those words were in the context of coach brands not caring where the chips fall, as in what weights people were at. Your very last line in your post suggested that Coach brands doesn’t care—And left it open ended. That’s a huge leap. That’s the jump you were making. You took it out of context. We could argue about this forever I’m glad to do that too. Just don’t start calling me names. I apologize for comparing your argument style to my kids. My kids are actually smart and cool.
LOLEveryone seems dead set on Young at 57, Bull at 65, and Kem at 74; is there any talk of Young going 65 and Bull going 57?
Those were recruiting mistakes. This issue regards getting the best pieces currently on the roster to go the right weight for the team. Brands has shown he is willing to move the most talented guys around the roster to get them in the lineup. No reason to be concerned that guys as talented as Kemerer and Marinelli are going to be wrestling off for 165. Fringe guys have done this in the past, but not proven studs. I agree that we need to be better prepared when we recruit prospects in the future, so we don't have to count on a Desanto falling into our laps to fill a gaping hole.I like Brands a lot but won't say this is an area he does really well. In fact I'd say that the reason we are in a position where we are is because Kaleb Young was never close to a full 174 pounder and Cash Wilcke was never a full 197 pounder. That said, right now things are definitely looking like they are falling into the right places for this year.
I don't think you are listening. Any Iowa fan has to admit that our talent has not been well-distributed lately, and Brands has basically suggested he doesn't care and just wants to let things fall where they will.
Don't agree with this. The problem has not been the distribution of talent, but rather a lack of talent (relatively) compared to PSU. We gush over getting a single top 20 recruit while Cael picks up 5.

57 Young
65 Bull
74 Dawg
It’s a done deal.
Well, saying there is a significant difference between Iowa Wrestling and Iowa Basketball, is an understatement. ; )My team making the NCAA tournament last year was a "done deal," too. Just saying.![]()
From the article, there is a lot of speculation:57 Young
65 Bull
74 Dawg
It’s a done deal.
He may wrestle better! Great scramblerFrom HawkCentral.com:
On Wednesday, June 6, Tom Brands addressed the scuttlebutt that junior-to-be Michael Kemerer would be moving up two weight classes — from 157 pounds, where he’s been a top-four NCAA finisher each of his first two seasons, to 174.
Yes, Kemerer’s body is getting bigger — as anyone who’s seen him lately can attest.
No, Iowa isn't making anything official — and probably won't anytime soon.
“We’ll figure it out,” Brands said. “This is June.”
It’s possible that, despite losing just one senior in Brandon Sorenson, seven Iowa weight classes in 2018-19 will have different starters than in March — with only NCAA champ Spencer Lee at 125 pounds, Marinelli at 165 and Sam Stoll at heavyweight staying put.

Can you give me a few more dots to connect. All this math is giving me a headache. Some of you need to learn to read between the lines. Brands shared some good info. Gunther transfers out, Young is wrestling down this summer, Kemerer isn’t making 157 and Marinelli is staying at his ideal weight of 165. Figure it out.

You guys are way off base here and the tides are turning. We have two of the best recruits in the nation recently in Spencer and Warner. You guys sound like Psu fans and you need to settle down and appreciate what’s happening.I think it's both. We actually gush over top 100 recruits![]()
This is very funny I have news for you Hall is not even in the top 5 and he is not even the best at his weight. Hall will not beat Zahid again so he had better hope Z goes up. Hall based on last year is the 5th best on his team and this year I would probably put him in about the same spot. I like Kem Dawg at 74 against Hall a whole lot better then a sucked out Kem against Nolf you will see.The article talks like Nolf is a tougher out than Mark Hall. Oh and Spencer and Nolf are on another planet so don’t compare..This is very funny I have news for you Hall is not even in the top 5 and he is not even the best at his weight. Lot of folks on here demanding entitlement..
What you are entitled to is the right to bitch and moan at Brands, Ferentz, Fran, et alia on a message board.
What you are not entitled to is access to every thought, option, and strategy in that coach's head.
Wow Kem looks thick he is our 174 not doubt in my mind after seeing him in this pic this is awesome he is going to tear it up. I knew he looked really sucked out at the end last year and that’s exactly why he was not himself in half of his matches makes perfect sense I’m pumped. The Dawg gonna eatHe looks huge...
I believe a collective fanbase is entitled to know that their highly compensated Head Coach has his shit together.Lot of folks on here demanding entitlement..

Don’t you see It’s what they Do!Folkstyle Nolf is a tougher out than Hall....I am good with that. Are we obligated to put a poll up on the New Kids on The Block site or do we just ask Bo as he is the resident expert of That is What They Do??
Go back and watch Hall wrestle Amine he was 1 point from losing twice and you tell me I’m wrong he is very beatable. The article talks like Nolf is a tougher out than Mark Hall. Hall is my number one ranked college wrestler, with Spencer Lee 2,Nolf 3, and Nickel 4.
Yowzers!He looks huge...
From the article, there is a lot of speculation:
Iowa already has a couple of options lining up at 157 pounds.
Talented sophomore Kaleb Young, who lost a wrestle-off with Gunther at 174 earlier this winter, could make the cut — he finished third in the under-23 World Team Trials at 74 kilograms (the equivalent of 163 pounds). He has plenty of time to make it down to 157, where junior Jeren Glosser also has "great scoring ability," Brands said.
Brands has Drexel transfer Austin DeSanto coming in at 133 pounds; Max Murin (at 141), Pat Lugo (at 149) and Jacob Warner (at 197) coming out of redshirt; and two-time 197-pound NCAA qualifier Cash Wilcke probably cutting to 184.
So the HawkCentral Iowa line up is this:
125 Lee
133 DeSanto
141 Murin
149 Lugo
157 Young
165 Marinelli
174 KemDog
184 Wilke
197 Warner
HWT Stoll

I would love for some of these guys to win dinner with Tom. What about you Art, you down to come to IC if you win (assuming you are Inner Circle)? I would wash dishes at the Brands to see this conversation.

Amine is a hammer and in the same tier as ZV and Hall. I see Kem as a solid 3rd, 4th at 74 just because Amine losses focus in a match or two.Go back and watch Hall wrestle Amine he was 1 point from losing twice and you tell me I’m wrong he is very beatable.
Yowzers!
That’s a big boy right there
74 ain’t gonna be no ice cream match anymore
