My daughter has two co-workers from Russia who are naturalized and she swears they are the hardest working people she’s ever known. Both are women married to Russian men and they came with no money. They started businesses and are doing fantastic.
What has Trump done so far that hasn't benefitted Putin? I'm not optimistic.
Not all Russians are Putin superfans just as all Americans are not Trump superfans. My 2 kids are Russian and trust me, they aren't fans of either.
Resuming weapons deliveries and sharing intel can’t be super popular with Putin.

I heard that some European leaders where coaching him on how to deal with Trump. Giving Trump the credit may have been a start.
Hopefully the intelligence has already resumed. That’s just flipping a switch, more or less.
That does give me some hope that he is honestly trying even though I don't believe he has any idea what he is doing.
I do think he eventually gets bored of it, withdraws all support for Ukraine and lifts sanctions on Russia.

I met a coworker today at the new job I started at two weeks ago. It's a retirement community and she manages the gym and works with a lot of the residents. Gal is seven years younger than me and maybe 110 lbs soaking wet. I wouldn't want to piss her off. She is awesome, but a total hardcore!
Sounds about right. I figure that makes the whole thing a foreign policy success for the USA (I'm pretty cynical about the true aims of our foreign policy), plus our defense contractors made a lot of money along the way.
This is me not being snarky or crude, but this is a tale as old as time. Since Mesopotamia or Eden or whatever is one’s individual beliefs on the origin of man… people/territory have been conquered. The map as you know it is the result of great empires, their rise and fall.
I feel like we are pretty conceited to think we can steer this in a different direction without actually getting involved.
Do we want this to end or not? Because right now what we are doing isn’t much different than thoughts and prayers after a mass shooting here.

"Not a good look" it's called real life. He just went toe to toe with a super power because we gave him thr best weapons on the planet. He wouldn't have lasted 3 months without it, it is what it is. JD Vance's words were "when/then Putin invaded" which tells me Trump knows Putin is the aggressor, as I said yesterday I will be interested in the sanctions or repercussions. Also, speaking as a guy who comes from little and has done OK for himself, being able to work off debt is a hell of a lot better than having to pay cash.
The best defense Ukraine can ask for to insure this isn't going to happen again are American citizens at risk of getting caught in the middle ( imo). And again, they are about to have an industry built for them.
The Euros can’t due to EU debt policy. Only Germany can but not in good shape to do it.
Trump and Putin know this.

Putin has to be laughing his arse off. Trump has already tipped his hand with all the conditions placed on Ukraine - no NATO membership, no post-war US security force, give up territory, and expect no reparations for the $500 billion infrastructure damage. And what is Trump requesting from Russia other than a 30 day cease fire???
VZ has been laughing all the way to the bank for the last 3 years, the American ATM is closed. It would behoove all parties to bring this to a peaceful end.
Russia is just getting started…they ain’t stopping and they know full well that the next 3-4 years are free for them to expand its growth/borders.
Yeah because this all started during Trump 1.0... oh wait no it didn't... just like the border, this wasn't an issue until the Dems mucked it up.
