I think they've given up on preventing spread.

How the shit would you being vaccinated impact a healthy newborn? If I need to I will. My son and his wife are having baby number 2 in January so anything that reduces risk for the grandbabies I will do.
Same.I had the first two and that's it for me. The boosters are a hard pass.
The main goal is to stop Americans from dying.Preventing infection was always a goal.
If my Doctor says I should get it I will.
Yup.
I've got a physical coming up, I will definitely ask my doctor. I got the bivalent vaccine in January so I am up to date. Sounds like the odds of a pandemic in the next t wo years is very low. I had Covid once for sure, but no symptoms at all. But I have been sick for 48 hours after each vaccine, so was planning on not getting more for a while. Last I had read they were not recommending any additional.
If all of these anti vax pussies were around in the 50’s and early 60’s polio would never have been beaten.Yep will get it this fall, with the flu vaccines I get. What is one more. The limited downside risks of vaccines are far outweighed by their benefits. The fact that people are concerned about vaccines tells you all you need to know about the damage the far right has done to the publics faith in science.
Preventing infection was never a goal; although before delta the vaccines seemed to be doing quite well on that measure.
This line of thinking always bothers me.These are the only correct answers, just consult with your doctor and follow his/her advice unless they get their information from 8chan/Q boards, then maybe just go with your gut on this decision.
Polio vaccine stopped people from getting polio. Covid vaccine does not.If all of these anti vax pussies were around in the 50’s and early 60’s polio would never have been beaten.
This is where I’m at. I see the Doc next month to get an annual. If he’s says do it I will. I just won’t do the flu and COVID at the same time this fall. That really knocked me down. Sickest I’ve ever been really. These are the only correct answers, just consult with your doctor and follow his/her advice unless they get their information from 8chan/Q boards, then maybe just go with your gut on this decision.
Glad to hear your are doing your Keigels, not sure what that has to do with a vaccine.I’m not a weak pussy so I don’t need shots.
Yep. I had the OG covid the first October and had limited symptoms. Both shots were way worse for me.Same.
The second shot made me sicker than I was when I actually had COVID.
Was going to reply and say the J&J wasn't mRNA (the one I initially got), but I guess I'm shit outta luck on that one as of May 6th.I'm hoping they come out with a non mRNA version. If so, I'll take it. If not, I'm waffling on whether to get another mRNA vaccine.
They HAD that; it was the J&J which is what I got. But that’s no longer an option.I'm hoping they come out with a non mRNA version. If so, I'll take it. If not, I'm waffling on whether to get another mRNA vaccine.
So, you’re saying the COVID vaccine didn’t help at all. If it just lessens the severity of the virus then it isn’t worth taking? Some people are just looking for an excuse not to take it.Polio vaccine stopped people from getting polio. Covid vaccine does not.

When my grandson was born last year it was required if they were in the NICU and you wanted to visit. He was born 4 weeks early and his mama is high risk so there is a chance this one could be premature as well. How the shit would you being vaccinated impact a healthy newborn?
Nope, I didn't say it wasn't effective at all.So, you’re saying the COVID vaccine didn’t help at all. If it just lessens the severity of the virus then it isn’t worth taking? Some people are just looking for an excuse not to take it.
I think this explains a lot about you. I see why you make the decision you do, because you struggle to understand the full sitsituation.
That answers the "healthy" part. When my grandson was born last year it was required if they were in the NICU and you wanted to visit. He was born 4 weeks early and his mama is high risk so there is a chance this one could be premature as well.
I have an infant. I had a infant during the height of covid. I took a 6(?) Month old into Unity point and had a doctor look me square in the eyes and say "you want this to be covid, you don't want this to be RSV". Luvkily it was covid and covid for healthy children is joke. Again, how would a grandmother being vaccinated help a healthy grandchild?
The days of "don't question the vaccine" are ****ing over bud.
Holy......shit.... feel free to sit in the corner and vaccinate yourself to your hearts content but that isn't even on the same planet as how it works in a day care.Wow. Just because RSV may be a higher risk for infants than covid, doesn't mean covid isn't still a risk. You're reasoning is really weird. With your black/white thinking it probably doesn't make sense for the grandma to be vaccinated, but for most normal humans that can deal with a little grey, there could easily be a very good reason. Maybe she doesn't want to risk her grandkid being one of the kids who is affected by covid. Maybe her Son/Daughter has a medical condition. Maybe her Son/Daughter just want to only allow vaccinated people around their kid for a few months.
You're the last person who should be questioning other people's decisions. You allows your infant to get Covid within the first few months of his/her life. It obviously wasn't a walk in the park or you wouldn't have taken him/her to the doctor. So enough of the covid is a joke for kids.

"Allowed my child to get covid", how long ago was it you had infant children building an immune system?
The only thing grey around here is your hair. How long has it been since you had a infant/toddler?There you are again with thinking black and white. There is a grey. I forgot you're a poor and had to put your kid in daycare during covid. You really shouldn't judge anyone with the bad choices you make. We didn't have to use daycare for our kids. Sounds like you need to spend more time figuring out how to better yourself rather than judging other people.
So your theory is no protection is better? Solid.no more for me
like the flu there are way too many strands out there for a single shot to protect against
Yes.
That’s a lie. Don’t make me go post the videos (again) of Biden and Walensky saying if you get vaccinated, you won’t spread Covid.Yes.
Main early goals were to slow the spread and reduce hospitalizations and deaths. The vaccines were very good at those and, for a while, even seemed to be preventing deaths. A nice bonus, but it didn't last.
You do understand that Grandma is still going to get COVID even with the vaccine right? And still going to give it to others even with the vaccine right?Wow. Just because RSV may be a higher risk for infants than covid, doesn't mean covid isn't still a risk. You're reasoning is really weird. This isn’t about how long ago I had kids, it’s about you being critical of others and your kid ended up at the hospital because of covid. You might want to sit this one out based on your choices. You’re like a lot of people in the world today, you make bad decisions and then attack the other side in order to justify (in your head) your poor decisions. The only thing grey around here is your hair. How long has it been since you had a infant/toddler?
