KF is going to retire from Iowa. You can argue they didn't need to extend/enlarge his contract. It can also be argued he was rewarded for 18 years of making the University and the state look good. CEOs are regularly upgraded to keep them on par with their peers. Ferentz is beginning his 20th year-which other P5 coach can you compare him to in terms of longevity increase?
Wrestling is disappointing for sure. Did you donate 10G to the wrestling club to pay off the wrestlers' student loans as a means of circumventing the 9.9 scholarship restriction? That is absolutely how PSU has dominated. They stockpile 2-3 deep just to keep kids from going to competitors.
Basketball is tricky. Fran had the team on a steady uphill trend until the past two years. I agree if significant improvement doesn't happen this year Fran should be replaced.

And when my dad was 18 he could legally drink a beer thanks to the Vietnam argument .

But, not during the Vietnam War he couldn't. That was my era and I couldn't legally drink in Iowa until I was 21. The law was changed some years later and then it was changed again so that high school seniors couldn't legally drink and then it went back to 21. So, I am guessing that lowering the age limit didn't work out so well.

I dont care about the money KF makes, I care about the verbiage of the contract setting the bar at 7 wins.

Your way of answering the question "what has barta done that would be above what an average AD would bring to the table" was to ask me if I donated 10k..... No, I have not. People dont give Nike money so they can do R and D to make a good product.... Nike makes a good product and then people give them the money for the product. I have donated what I can but to set some arbitrary 10k number is an excuse as to why we have been passed.

Basketball may be tricky but at best you could say barta is MAYBE going to go 1/2 and there are a fair amount that would say 0/2.

I'm not going to explaining branding in 2018 but it is a big deal and the "who cares" crowd is the same guy at the office who always b1tches about the new tech. You either embrace it or you get passed and Iowa was WAY behind.

Seriously though, I mean this with all respect and purely conversational, I would love to have a respectful conversation with someone who sees GB differently than I. I dont live un IC, I am not a 100k donor so maybe there are things done I dont know about. What have you seen or heard that GB has done that would place him above average to make up for the less than average examples?
