Wasn't Phillips and Terry Garvin targeting kids from the youth centers as well that didn't have stability at home via Sandusky?Ronny and the Ring Announcer were the ones who groomed the ones under 18. That were trying to break into the industry setting up rings.
Pat hit on several talents Brickhouse Brown, Jim Powers, and another jobber that never quite made it. All of those talents that rebuffed him soon found themselves out of the WWF.
RVD is quoted as saying when he was first breaking in Brown set down a bunch of the younger talent and gave the 411.
True, but hitting on adults and essentially firing them if they rebuffed you is still creepy AF. Even if it was the 80s/90s. As for Jim, JR, and Bruce they weren’t the ones standing in their underwear getting the pat downs.Wasn't Phillips and Terry Garvin targeting kids from the youth centers as well that didn't have stability at home via Sandusky?
Completely different ballparks of inappropriate/criminal behavior between grooming kids and hitting on adults.
If true then agree it's inappropriate, and wouldn't fly in today's landscape, but 87% of everything workplace pre the "MeToo" movement wouldn't either. Powers was in the WWF for a decade plus, and did get some minor pushes, just never caught on outside the tag-team with Roma, not sure Patterson was the whole issue there? Not calling Patterson a saint, don't know him from Adam, but generally with predators their is a consistant pattern, and I haven't heard proof that he fit that mold, and definatley shouldn't of been lumped in the with Ring-Boy stuff.True, but hitting on adults and essentially firing them if they rebuffed you is still creepy AF. Pat was still a predator just of adults.
Pat is one of the greatest bookers of all time. Pretty much everything in the Mid 80’s WWE had his fingerprints all over it.If true then agree it's inappropriate, and wouldn't fly in today's landscape, but 87% of everything workplace pre the "MeToo" movement wouldn't either. I thought Bronn was so much better when he was chasing the title. Once he got the title he just felt so boring on the mic.
Glad they gave Jey a championship. Excited to see his run.
No one can deny how over he is. He might have the best entrances on Raw, at least as far as fan engagement goes.
RAW again very fun, although the USO promo was rough...he not ready for that much promo time, this Braun/Bronson feud has been way more fun than I ever imagined it would or could be...each week they are a couple of 400 lbs spot monkeys...lol
Next week looks stacked with Gunther/Sammy and Shammus/Pete.
I can't wait for this to move to Netflix so they stop cutting the audio....
i was wondering how that match would end. it was like 9:58 and they were both wobbling. It was a good secret return moment for him.
The fact Punk took part in that proves he's turned a new leaf.
ya i thought so tooRaquel Rodriguez? Boring & a lazy ending to that match.
gunther's such a dick. i love him.
I just saw this. He took some bumps.
I like the fact WWE is bringing blood back when it makes sense, the gratuitus blading, I've never understood, (cough AEW) nor did I understand no blood war games or hell in the cell matches...that was the point of their creation.I just saw this. He took some bumps.
For some reason it felt like for the positive action for the attitude era, there was an opposite, yet equal reaction where the pendulum really swung the other way for a while. It makes sense why fans that really gravitated toward the attitude era left in the early 2000s. Now they seem to be coming back again.I like the fact WWE is bringing blood back when it makes sense, the gratuitus blading, I've never understood, (cough AEW) nor did I understand no blood war games or hell in the cell matches...that was the point of their creation.
We are in a good era of WWE.
I think people get so caught up with the action "not being real" that they forget that the story lines are supposed to be wild/funny/ridiculous. There is stuff even in 2024 that is just so out there that it's funny.csb alert but ever since the McMahon doc, I've been watching old Raw/Superstars/PPVs. I haven't watched heavily since like 2001 but have been having an absolute blast watching the stuff I grew up with from the early 90's and on.
It is so. damn. funny. I completely forgot about Jimmy Del ray. Best dance ever
Ted Dibiase laugh.. IRS yelling at people for not paying taxes. Frickin Mable! So good lol
Me and a few buddies were watching some newer old videos of Stone Cold fighting Booker T in a grocery store that was frickin hilarious. The stuff with Goldust was just nuts. So stupid but so hilarious and awesomeI think people get so caught up with the action "not being real" that they forget that the story lines are supposed to be wild/funny/ridiculous.
