2023-24 Big Ten MBB Discussion Thread

Minny nips MSU in barn by 3 pts.
They sit till Sunday at Carver with 3 game winning streak.

OSU blows a 18 PT lead at home vs IU to lose by 3.
OSU up 12 with 6 minutes to go ouch.
Galloway w 25..19 in 2nd half.

Rutgers just got 2 guys back in the last week that had previously not played this year. Jeremiah Williams who was at Iowa State last year (injured all year) successfully got a court ruling to be allowed to play after being ineligible due to the gambling stuff from his time last year. Then Emmanuel Ogbole who is a JUCO guy who is finally recovered from an injury he suffered in the offseason. Williams in particular has averaged 25 minutes and 12 points in his 2 games he's been able to play.
It'll be interesting to monitor if they can continue to get better with these new pieces.

What amazes me is how much talent TJ lures to Ames. This Williams paired with Tony would be a great backcourt.
Omaha hardly plays in Ames.
Screw it..bring me the head of tj holzhammer when Fran departs!
 
Michigan hanging on to 1 point lead with 12 minutes to go vs badgers in Ann Arbor.
Wolves have blown a dozen halftime leads this year and probably happen again tonite.
Mich has given up 17 layups so far..ouch.
 
Mich hangs on to win by 4. Uneventful handshake line afterwards but Howard had a huge smile after this win.

NW on fire. Not looking forward to Hawkeyes visiting NW next month
Buie has to be all league and probably behind only Edey in MVP race.

Nebby playing not great defense and not enough touches to Mast on offensive that being said Boo is on fire once he gets going hard to stop

I would put Dix on him does not go for the fakes and has length on boo make boo pass the ball

Boo has the handle to shake guys w crossover step back. Dix will have his hands full.

The game at Northwestern could be a crucial game if IOWA can win next3. NIT is looking more likely but very winnable games coming down the stretch. Lose tonight and the rest wont matter as much!

In a proper rating system, wisky would plummet in the rankings after 2 losses in a row to the bottom of the league. Particularly this complete dismantling/blowout today. It'll be interesting to see where they are in the NET after today.

Michigan was kind of hanging around in Champaign tonight, then got their doors blown off in the last minutes. Down 18, and Howard attempting to work the refs isn't going to cut it. This is a bad UM team.
 


Major blow to Northwestern. They have not been a very deep team this year in terms of utilizing their bench, so it'll be interesting to see how they pivot.

Sean Miller was caught red-handed funneling 100-200k to Ayton when he was at Arizona...all is forgiven?

RU rallies from 14 down to beat NW in NJ.
RU is a different team since ex-ISU guard Jeremiah Williams( current BIG player of the week) joined them 2 weeks ago.
This kid is an explosive scorer who is lightning quick.
Magg was out for RU but they still won their 4th straight to get to 6-7 in league. Glad we do not play them as they are definitely a sleeper going to BTT.

Meanwhile Minny is giving PU a game so far with Edey saddled w 2 early fouls.
Painter took him out at 13 minute mark but has brought him back w 7 minutes in 3 pt game.
 
Wow... PU goes from up 11 to down 8 in 1st half.
Minny balling out like they did vs Hawks before Garcia got hurt.
 
With Berry out for Northwestern, things could get interesting. They are definitly a bubble team that could be in trouble. Also keep a eye on Rutgers, If teams on the bubble continue to struggle, Rutgers could get there. Long way to go but ive seen weirder things happen!

Losing berry was very damaging to NW but I must say that the frosh who they played in his place, Mullins?, looked decent. Athletic,quick, bouncy and long for guard.
Collins is finding nice transfers and recruits these days. They will dance this year. Agree on RU..sleeper to make run in BTT.
