Alabama State Notes
  • The Hornets defeated LaGrange 90-69 in an exhibition contest on Monday, Oct. 30, playing 13 players in the process, before playing just nine against Ole Miss in the regular season opener on Nov. 6.
  • TJ Madlock and CJ Hines paced three players in double figures against Ole Miss with 12, while Amarr Knox added 11 off the bench. Jasteven Walker knocked a team-high three three-pointers off the bench.
  • Madlock was named preseason Second Team All-Conference after earning the 2022-23 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Newcomer of the Year. He averaged 11.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game last season.
  • Isaiah Range returned after missing the last eight games of the season following a season-ending injury. Before he was injured, Range led Alabama State in scoring at 14.2 points per game. He played against LaGrange before sitting out against Ole Miss.
  • Range is the only player who has seen action in the past against Iowa, playing against the Hawkeyes in 2021.
  • Alabama State returns 46.2 percent of its scoring from last season, and 38.9 percent of its rebounding from a season ago.

O/U must have jumped from this morning. I just got it at 160.

Alabama State only lost by 10 to Ole Miss, who I have no idea how good they are other than they are Chris Beard’s new team.

KenPom still has them at 340. Woof.

Always take Iowa to cover against these poor teams. Iowa scores easily and their traditional lack of defense doesn't hurt as much against these types of teams. Thank me tomorrow.
Iowa athletics really want to make me get into sports gambling. Zero offense and elite defense in football nearly guarantees the under every time. Zero defense and score early and often offense in basketball almost guarantees the overs. Statistically each one occurs with HUGE regularity. Seems like an easy recipe for building parlays....

Scary mascot ...

Over/under 4000 actual attendance? I know they track paid attendance but feels like the type of game that sounds like crickets.

If anyone can provide a free link it would be greatly appreciated!

I have Peacock, but for times when a game is not on a service I have here is my method:

Download and install Firefox (I feel like it does a better job of baseline adware/spyware avoidance.
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

Once you have Firefox installed, get the uBlock Origin ad block extension (this extension will also block YT embedded ads, love it)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

If you don't want to download Firefox and use Chrome, uBlock also has a Chrome extension. Not sure about Microsoft Edge but I would assume so. If you're using Opera or Brave, figure it out yourself :)

This site is an aggregator and pulls in game streams from multiple sources:

For NCAA games you need to navigate to the NCAA section via the top bar:

The Iowa game is listed so there should be a working stream.

And for the love of god, if any ads slip by the ad blocker, don't click on anything.

Hope the above helps!

It’s a pirates life for me. I refuse to pay peacock
I have Peacock because I don’t want to eff around and find out. A friend of GIOT threw streameast out there for the football game. I’ve dabbled and it’s never let me down. I’m too old and dumb or maybe I’m just too lazy to mess around with VPNs or other safeguards to pirate safely.

It's hard to say which game has that big time game feel to it - last night's WBB or tonight's MBB
