Big 12 expansion

Not entirely sure of your point here, but if it is to state that Iowa cannot be compared with the elite of college football, then that is foolish.

How many teams over whatever time frame you wish to pull out of the hat have gone 8-0/12-0 for a regular season? Yes, we know.... the schedule was so easy that it is surprising it has not happened so many times to so many different programs before. Even a team like isu should have been close a time or two.

The answer is that fans from Ohio State, Bama, FSU, Oregon and OU do not spend every waking moment trying so hard to justify themselves here on HR.
So you are stating Iowa is now an elite football school? 12-0 was great, first time in the history of the program, but one season does not make you elite, winning or playing in national championship games gets you there. Iowa has had a nice run, upper level program, but we saw at the Rose Bowl what happens to Iowa when they meet an elite program, down 38 - 0, but I am sure it was Stanford's super bowl, and Iowa could just not get up to play a team that had lost to Northwestern, the same Northwestern that Iowa beat 40 - 0. Sure you are right, there 5, keep saying it you yourself, and maybe you will begin to believe it.

Says and isu grad on which id? How else would you know of posts years old with such a new ID?

Must ignore. Toss me another softball please.
The great defender of all things Iowa Hawkeyes has spoken, everyone here should feel blessed that they have Jeff, watching over them. Protecting them from those yucky fans from Nebraska and ISU. Only Jeff can use his magical wit and sarcasm to keep them away. Only Jeff, the all seeing, all knowing, protector of the true Hawkeye will save and protect you. And why is that so, because Jeff an Iowa fan says so. LET IT BE SAID, LET IT BE DONE. All praise the mighty Jeff or HerkyFan, or what ever he is calling himself this week.

Say isu grad who is sure academics is what will save isu. How many ID's? Keep ignoring and I will keep asking.

If isu grads aren't here defending the pathetic clowns then why are they here? Just to be laughed at?

The point that flew right over your head Eisnstein was that the only conferencesthat will be able to charge a subscription fee for each TV in a State are the Big Ten and SEC. Neither of which will spend anytime considering little bro isu.

But that hasn't stopped you from your moronic argument now has it.

Toss me another softball please.
So the ACC nor Pac 12 will be able to charge fees to watch their games, do they know this? Maybe Jeff, you should tell them that only the Big 10 and SEC get to charge, nadda for the rest of them. Thank you Jeff, again, you have cleared the air, and made the water pure again. Get yourself a cookie.

Iowa is hardly elite. Light years ahead of isu absolutely.

1912 MVC camps not withstanding.

For 1921 and 1922, Iowa was selected as National Champion by Billingsley (each year), and Parke Davis selected Iowa also in 1921.
For 1956, Football Research selected Iowa as National Champion, along with selections by others of Georgia, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
For 1958, the Football Writers of America, ranked the Iowa Hawkeyes as #1 and National Champions. The trophy rests not far from Nile Kinnick's Heisman won in 1939, in the recently opened Iowa Athletic Museum.

The Pac-12 and ACC won't be able to get the deal the BIg Ten and SEC got. They tried and failed. Whoosh it flies right over the head of isu grad.

Jeff, you are doing what no Iowa fan ever does, comparing Iowa to ISU. But you are the wise, all knowing Jeff, God praise you and your intellect, without you, all Hawk fans everywhere would be lost in woods. Jeff, you are like Moses, leading your people to the true faith. May god bless you.

Jeff I am on my second, now how about you, still claiming you are on your first? I know, just ignore the question and it will go away. Why, because Jeff, an iowa fan says so.

Yep still my first dick. Why would anyone need more than one unless they are a douche?

Hey Dick, Iowa counts tickets sold just like Pollard and the clowns. Must ignore?
So then how did Iowa claim football sell out four years ago, when they had tickets left? Maybe because it made them look like Nebraska and their long sell out streak? I do have a question for you, "what makes Kinnick stadium legendary?" Iowa starts every game with "welcome to legendary Kinnick stadium". What has happen their to make it that? Who decided to start calling it that? I mean, OSU, Mich, Oklahoma, Texas or countless other elite programs do start the game with welcome to legendary what ever field, why does Iowa. And remember, do not compare Iowa to ISU, No Iowa fan would ever do that, and why. Because the all mighty Jeff, an Iowa fan, says so. I will await you answer.

No actually I am just blasting another of your softballs out of the park.

Ask your self the same question, you are on at least your forth, but lets call each other names if it makes you feel better. why, because the all knowing Iowa fan Jeff, says so.

If isu is so high and mighty then why couldn't pollard sell all his club seats in the new Joke Trice?

Dick says so it must be right.
Again, call me a name and avoid the question. I will not fall in the same trap as before, I will not call you names, this is a family site, small children out for summer break may be watching. Why do you call me names there Jeff? Could it be, that is all you have to offer?

I did answer your question . Not my fault if you can't grasp it. Show us more of that isu education. Always good for laughs.
So you are saying you have never posted before on this site under another name. Now Jeff, that is a lie, and everyone on this board knows it.

Comparing Iowa to ISU again, no Iowa fan does that, how do we know, because the all mighty Jeff, tells us so.

No just showing the massive difference. Defend little bro some more Dick. Serve up some more softballs and I will blast them out of the park.

Deal?

I am just calling you by name. More softballs please.

Because Dick says so.
Jeff, I will not get into a name calling contest with you, if it make you feel better to call me a name, go ahead. But you still have not been truthful about my question. You are lying when you say you have only posted here under your current name. It's ok to admit it, everyone here knows, just go ahead, or are you going to live in denial and hope we all forget? Why because Iowa fan Jeff, said so.

Ignore and hope I go away. But Jeff is really just showing up a old mean ISU fan and protecting his flock from those mean nasty ISU people. Why, because Jeff said so, and He is an IOWA fan,

Just put him on ignore, everyone else has. Debating insanity is fruitless. His own mother doesn't claim him.

Does anyone else sense this thread slipping away? Or is it just me because I apparently have a couple of the participants on "ignore"?

I am waiting for the isu grad that can defeat my arguments without going to the selective time frame card. Hasn't happened yet. They usually get all pissy and run away to hide.

Will Dick be the first? I am betting no chance.

Because Dick says so.
Jeff one of the things they taught us when I took debating class in college is that if you have to resort to calling you opponent names, you have lost the augment, and in fact its illegal in debating competitions. Now I am sure since you graduated from college you did know that, so therefore you are attacking like Trump does, when he is cornered and does not want to answer. Both of you attack the person, by calling them names, and demean their character. Thereby hoping that the audience will forget the original question. Its a losing way to fight, but its the only way you know. So good luck with that.

This is a first. Calling someone by their name is name calling?

Yeah, it looks like the same person debating himself, lol
Well, the two of us can have an adult conversation, maybe.

As I've said before, I'm extremely concerned about ISU's future vis-a-vis realignment, primarily because the only factor that matters is television money, and ISU doesn't bring that to anybody.

Ironically, although I am against the idea of four 16-team mega-conferences, that clearly would be the best scenario for the Cyclones. And I have seen some observers speculate that the implosion of the Big XII could be the trigger for that kind of reorganization. Makes sense in a way; the BiG and SEC would grab the logical suspects to make 16 each, and the rest would shake out based largely on traditional rivalries and geography.

I don't see any way isu is more attractive than those already in other P5 conferences and several that are not.

It seems one guy gets paid everytime he uses the word "Dick"in a post and the other gets paid when he uses "Jeff".

Southerniowacy

We have turf.... Not grass

Why is it called historic Kinnick Stadium? You mean why would we dare say this at a place named after a legendary heisman trophy winner? With the legends statue out front? Only stadium I still believe named after a heisman trophy winner? Built in 1929? Great question.

I can see the following:

The ACC adds UCONN and South Florida
SEC adds OU and then one of T-tech or Okie State
Pac12 adds Bosie State, BYU, Texas and then one of TCU BU or Texas Tech.
Big Ten adds Notre Dame and KU and Delaney pushes for a 10 game conference slate and removes the ban against playing FCS schools.

I don't really worry a lot, my level of concern is unlikely to change any outcome. That being said, even if ISU does go to the MAC, per se, it really won't influence me going to games or being a fan. If I only went to games to watch my team win, I would probably cheer for Alabama or Ohio State. I know financially it would be bad for ISU but they can take their medicine if that's the case. They should have done more to win, not in the past 20 years but more specifically from 1960-1995 when they were dog crap in football. There was a lot of the current fanbases formed during that time and then they reproduce future fandom.
I do like the 16 team super conferences based on geography, it would be fun to be in a conference with Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois, etc. for regional rivalry sake. I admire Iowa's position in this respect.
