Sorry, but thats total BS. After Gard and Howard had words they were separated, and Howard was pushed back by HIS own players , then he stepped up and took the swing. It should have been over if he had just turned away.
This is utterly ridiculous. I cannot believe an Iowa fan would actually type this. I understand hoping for a coaching change, but why would you want the negative publicity coming from this?

And then they were separated. All Howard had to do was turn and walk away, after his players pushed him back. Instead he pushed past his players to swing at the other coaches. Thats like saying that after the Illinois assistants went after Fran last year in Carver, he would have been justified in taking a swing at them. Do you really believe that would have gone over well?

grabbing is a very ambiguous term and difficult to police.
there should be policy to set clear expectations, Do Not Touch.
But there isn’t, so how can you enforce something that isn’t illegal?

Whatever Fran has done should be irrelevant to this discussion IMO. Fran hasn't created this type of dangerous situation.

Gard saw that Howard was gesturing at him and grabbed his arm in a defensive manner. Never any move toward Howard, while Howard was towering over Gard. Gard moved away and several players came between Howard and Gard, including Krabbenhoft. Howard pushe between 2 of his players and reached over at leasy one other to hit Krabbenhoft, who stepped back after that. Then the MI players started beating on WI players. I saw Diabate throw and land at least 2 punches. There was another MI player, didn't recognize him, who threw several punches. Those 2 and Howard for sure should be suspended. Howard should be fined. He started it, and that's not debatable or defendable. Any other school would probably fire the coach. MI, meh. They brought him in after he was part of the biggest recruiting scandal ever at the school as a player. BAU.

I think Fran calling the refs M'effers and saying they stole the game when it was Fran's zone defense that let Ahren's go off for a career high was more out of line than the chair.
The Chair was when Fran was trying to break the cycle of losing from the Lickliter era.
It is an emotional job, but coaches are well paid to control emotions or suffer consequences. A two game suspension for Howard and letting him know the next one he is out should suffice
I would say Michigan's Harbaugh is still more of a dickweed than Howard.
Or Iowa doesn’t matchup well with teams that have a really good big. But sure, let’s go with out coached.
