Charlie Moore

Saw where Purdue got a PG from Texas which is relevant to Simpson and the kid from Milwaukee who both had the boilers on their short list. Illinois will push hard for one of these two kids. Will Iowa get a visit from Simpson or Moore, will be interesting to see.

Dominos starting to fall.

Alabama and Auburn land 5* studs. They are more irrelevant than Iowa is. I get Auburn has Pearl but what the heck does Bama offer? Fran needs to get a "salesman" on the staff. The top level kids don't care about loyalty and hard work anymore. They want to be sold BS instead.

I don't know where to start with this post.

> "Alabama and Auburn land 5* studs". So what. Chances are still good that Alabama and Auburn will be irrelevant, or less relevant, after they arrive on campus. The only question I would have is this: did Fran McCaffery offer these players also? The answer is no. If McCaffery did not recruit them, why bother worrying about it. So, again, so what... or, perhaps, good for them I guess.

> "I get that Auburn has Pearl". Pearl is a walking NCAA investigation invitation and an admitted liar. Iowa has higher standards.

> "Iowa needs to get a salesman on the staff" Here we go again. Recall the previous arguments about this staff's inability to land Afro-American players or Chicago prospects. Both bogus. Bottom line is Fran identifies players which fit his system. He has lost a few high profile battles and but he has won a few also. He is building the program the right way from the bottom up and building on each prior year's success.

. "top level kids don't care about loyalty and hard work anymore" I don't believe your claim about loyalty is absolutely true but, to the extent it is, it also works both ways. If a recruit is not committed to the program how valuable are they to the team and winning? Its still a team sport. More importantly, if they don't care about hard work, you do not want them on your roster. Period.

Of course, Iowa fans want McCaffery to land highly talented players but not at the expense of the integrity of the program.

SEC. Iowa is not going to tolerate an SEC style salesman. If you want to root for that kind of stuff, do yourself a favor and find a new school because it won't fly here.

Well Alabama does have a coach that had success as a player and head coach in the NBA. And we all know Pearl, while shady as hell, is a dynamic personality

Kedprince4 on twitter twitter tweeted today that iowa is expecting a visit from him (moore). Said is his invert row with allhawkeyes that him and cook there is a very good chance they will play together. Something to keep an eye on

Please try again.

I believe I speak that language.

Kedprince4 on twitter. tweeted today that iowa is expecting a visit from Charlie Moore. Kedprince4 said in his interview with allhawkeyes that regarding Moore and Cook, there is a very good chance they will play together. Meaning commit to the same college. This is something to keep an eye on.

Hope that helps.

I think there's a slight correction. I think the interview wig allhawkeyes was from Moore, not Kedprince4, Kedric Prince who is a writer for orange and blue news. I haven't read the interview as I don't subscribe to the site, but that's just a hunch. Here is the references tweet. Came in response to a follower saying some Moore comments about playing early translated to him planning to attend Iowa.

Not trying to be a butt or anything and I haven't seen them play in person but are the coaches kids truly big ten caliber players? Just asking.

If Conor was 6-1 or 6-2 instead of 6-5 or 6-6, then probably not. But his combination of size and skill makes him a viable player. He won't wow anyone with his athletic ability, but he knows how to play, is willing to pass the ball and can make shots.

For the younger one, he looks good, as much as anyone can tell about a kid going into his freshman year. Both of them seem to have right approach to the game.

Unfortunately, he is visiting Pitt in 9/18, which is when we play Pitt in football and Tyler Cook is on campus.
Confused as to why Moore scheduled visits to Cal and Pitt before Iowa and Illinois. It would've been great to get him in the same weekend as Cook but oh well. Does Pitt really think they have a shot? Still a two horse race at this point between us and Illinois imo.

Seems strange cause they are hosting Cassius Winston for Pitts first home football game. He would be visiting when there is no home football weekend. Especially if he might want to play with cook.

Confused as to this visit date to Pitt by Moore as well. But you know what, the way things change I'm not going to get too worked up until that weekend comes and goes.

Never know about recruiting. Pitt has been down lately but had some really good years there. Does Pitt have an assistant on their staff that recruits Chicago? Impressed they got a visit from Winston also.

Simpson has been very quiet. The fact that he visited Iowa once may bode well for the Hawks getting a visit. Two of his top schools were Xavier and Purdue who got their PG. Never know, Xavier may be the dark horse in all of this.

Love all the speculation.

Pitt is putting pressure on Winston to commit on his visit by bringing in kids soon after him.
Still a bit interesting to me they were able o actually get him for a visit on a date of their choosing. I have to believe Fran and staff were pushing hard to have him visit hat weekend and the most prominent opinions I've heard all had Moore in a two team race with Iowa and Illinois with a couple blue bloods (namely UNC) starting to sniff around. Pitt getting him to visit at all is not what I would've expected and them getting him when we wanted him makes me a little nervous (not that my opinion is worth anything haha).

I guess visits to Pitt and Cal (likely Moore will not go to either school) closes the door somewhat for an official visit to a blue blood. He only gets 5 right? Pitt, Cal, Iowa, Illinois, ???? I guess he could still pull a Ulis and take an unofficial to a blue blood.

Just me, but if I felt I was more interested in Illinois and Iowa, and wanted to check what else is out there, I would take those two visits first and then Illinois and Iowa last. I'm reading something into the visits that at end of the day, probably doesn't mean squat.

Just on twitter: Moore has now set up visits to Memphis and Illinois as well. As of now: Cal: Sept 11 Pitt: Sept 18 Illinois: Sept 25 Memphis: Oct 2. Oh boy.

All larger and/or more racially diverse than Iowa City. I wonder if this is playing into his choices.

Dang. Not looking good for Iowa. Fran going to miss on yet another top PG priority that he spent countless hours courting and offering 4 years of being in charge. A game changing PG is the missing piece and Fran just can't land one. Very disappointing. Sorry but Moss and Williams aren't natural PGs and next year isn't ideal for a project at that position either. Maybe they'll develop into a nice PG in 2-3 years but Iowa needs a natural true talent at PG.

I think Williams was quoted after a PTL game that he feels the most comfortable with the ball in his hands and he wants to play PG. He could very well start when Gesell is gone.

Not sure a project at PG is what this team needs next year though. Maybe Williams ends up okay at PG but will take a few years of development like Dev needed. Williams isn't going to be a natural like Ulis or Moore would be. Going to be a young team next year too.

Rob Howe posted an article with some comments from Moore a few minutes ago, but I am not subscribed to that site so I do not know what was said..

Probably lip service to the extent of "I'm still interested in Iowa, etc." It is interesting, though, that all of his officials are going to be places he has not yet visited, except for Illinois.

On all hawkeyes.com it says he is still
Interested and very well could take a fifth visit. The 247 site guy tweeted he "loves iowa"
Hopefully like marble emerged his second year at iowa, williams does the same or iowa gets a proven transfer to play pg.

Just read a write up from hoopseen where Moore said he is unsure of who will get the 5th visit. Said everyone he has an offer from is still involved and he plans to commit in November. Definitely not what I was hoping to hear and runs pretty contrary to what I had come to believe in terms of our standing with him recently. Rather than being a from runner it sounds like we are playing catch up with the 4 he scheduled visits to.
