Hmmmm. If I was a betting dude, I'd bet the house on us not getting Chuckie.
Thanks, Kirk.Moore: "I'm sorry the Iowa SID pulled some straight bullshit over your press credentials, Rob."
Howe: "Ain't no thang, brah."
Sounds like Iowa at 33% would be overly optimistic.247 has made a change on their crystal worthless ball from 100% iowa to Illinois 67% iowa 33%. I know doesn't mean crap just like it didn't when they had iowa 100%.
Looks like the regional recruiting guy flipped his pick from Iowa to Illinois and the national guy just added a new prediction for Illinois. The lone Iowa prediction is from the Wisconsin guy who, in my estimation, is likely just slow in getting to his keyboard...Sounds like Iowa at 33% would be overly optimistic.
Anyone know what the heck this is all about? Sounds like the SID is unhappy with Rob, obviously. Also sounds like it may be impacting recruiting. Who is at fault here?Moore: "I'm sorry the Iowa SID pulled some straight bullshit over your press credentials, Rob."

So Iowa has a couple of decent seasons and is all of a sudden a better destination than Illinois? So Iowa will miss out on another big PG get. That's rough.
t.Also, who the HELL would commit to Illinois at this point That program (and administration) is a tire fire right now.

In all fairness, we really can't say Iowa is the better destination without knowing who will be replacing Groce after this season.
Still surprising that he did not even plan a visit. At least with ulis(who is for sure better) he showed respect to fran and staff to visit iowa even if he was set on going to kentucky. Iowa offered before all the schools moore is visiting and he still won't take a visit out of respect.wonder if something did not click with him and the coaches. Guess you can tell how interested a player is in by the schools they set up visits to at this point in time.
I can easily see where many would be pessimistic with the latest update on Moore, but it really doesn't make any sense to me that Iowa would be one of the first mentioned in nearly every interview, and he'd have nothing but good things to say about Fran and Iowa unless, at least at some point, Iowa was one of his favorites.
Do we really think we dropped from #1/2 to outside his top 5 in a matter of a few weeks? If that actually happened then I think it would be Iowa who backed off. We were one of the first ones in on him, I would think that we'd at least make his final list. He even stressed that the visits weren't representative of his top schools
To me, and I'm really optimistic, right now the plan is for Moore and Cook to team up at Iowa and Moore is taking a few other visits to make sure that this is what he wants.
I'm with unoHawkeye on this one (which is what I was alluding to in my post (#133))... I still think we have a realistic chance of landing both Moore and Cook. Let's not forget that there have been references to the effect that both would like to play each other and I believe that IA is the only common school both on their published final lists.
I would rather a guy not waste our time with an official if he has no intention of going to Iowa.Still surprising that he did not even plan a visit. its almost as if people are ignoring the fact that he flat out said: "This is not my final four, just the four schools I want to visit," Moore said. "My family and I are still talking to other schools. We're going to narrow the list down in the next four weeks."
I'm going to save my disappointment (or enthusiasm) until then. no-one knows anything yet. he still may visit here on an official and even if he doesn't, he has already visited and since we have been recruiting him the longest, probably knows what we have to offer and wants to make comparisons.
that's my rosy outlook anyway.
Maybe he knows what he's got at iowa and doesn't need to visit again.
That's the hope. If we're his top choice, he might be taking visits to see if anyone can at all change his mind.
I would think the amount of information - especially academically - is presented at a much deeper level on an official visit. IMO, if you are truly serious about attending a school, taking an official visit would once again allow you to immerse yourself in that culture. Tyler Cook has been here on unofficial visits as well, but has made it a point to check out Iowa once again. Cook has many options too; and to me, seems a lot more serious about Iowa than Moore does. Everyone is different in how they approach things, but ask yourself, how many recruits - with a lot of options - would commit to a school they never officially visited? Now, I will say this, the staff seems to be holding steady on their pursuit for the time being. But I find it hard to believe that Moore would not commit to an official visit; but WOULD commit to attending the school.
Like in dating, Iowa is moving into the "friend" category.
I guess I was under the impression that the only difference between an official and unofficial visit was who was paying the tab.
Maybe he knows what he's got at iowa and doesn't need to visit again.
Kurt, no way man. If he doesn't take an official, he's not coming. He just doesn't want to have to tell Fran we are out of the picture until he's visited a couple schools.
I've moved on hoping for a Simpson visit. You can be assured Fran has a plan B and C.
