I hope Drake does not fall for Ryan's used car sales routine.

I used to thunk ISU would be a great place for some of these Iowa kids. Now I don’t think it is a good place for anyone.
ISU lost relevance when they let Carl slip away.
I'm more concerned about what IOWA is doing to land Ayala.

There's not the slightest hint in that article of any leader. His mom came into an interview wearing an Iowa sweatshirt and he chastised her and she went and changed it. I guess it would cause a bombardment of questions and even more speculation.

A couple younger brothers who are pretty good too I think.
I hope The Hawks are pushing hard for Drake, it would be nice to see a current top level IOWA recruit in the Black and Gold.
Honestly, why would he even consider any place but IOWA? Unless there was a significant money discrepancy which I can not imagine. How would any other place even compete at all?

3) Partners and greatest ability to reach the top and it is not even close!
4) Not sure how long it will take? But the New facility is in the works.

MONEY and the number of years in the STARTING LINEUP.
Some people I know really wanted to go out of state just for a different experience. My buddy went to ASU for the weather and “other things”. Wrestling is a only a part, a major part for drake, but still only a part of his college life.
He is a 4.0 student. I can’t imagine money is an issue at all between wrestling and academics combined.
Exactly! Lines up perfectly with SL's eligibility. A top10/15 recruit should be good enough to go as a true frosh.
None of us know the scholly arrangement, but given Iowa's lineup graduating after next season... you have to think there's a lot of $$$ going off the books.
Well, my daughter is also a 4.0 and just got a 33 on her ACT. 33 is the "magic number" at Iowa AND Iowa State. With local scholarships I don't think she's going to have to pay much.
He would be the perfect get for either school as you get a great wrestler for not much money.
BTW, my daughter is going to be a Hawkeye.

Definitely think the one advantage would be full scholly money vs a partial offer. Not sure what the hawks have on the table for him but given his rank I can’t imagine not taking a full ride.

FWIW I've been told by a person in the know in Dirty Dodge that its now down to Iowa and Ohio St and that he favors Ohio St 60-40.

I can't imagine being a top high school kid and going to be a 125 or 133 in college and not choosing Iowa. Our track record is proven.
Maybe big crowds give him anxiety? If this were the case then tosu would make perfect sense
Not even considering the wrestling environment, new facilities, and being in the same state. Why wouldn’t you want to be in the same room as Spencer Lee, Desanto, Gilman, Clark and Brands?
I believe that but I’ll say this. There’s always a lot of talk in the Dirty Dodge, everyone thinks they are in the know, and most of it is just talk. Both of Drake’s parents come from big families & I’m sure you have played the telephone game before.

UNI has taken ISU's spot in the pecking order.
If we don't get Ayala, that's a huge problem. Can't let an out of state school take your elite in state talent and expect to compete for titles long term
I tend to agree with this after what Teske went through. It’s cute to go that far away but sucks to have to come home with your tail between your legs.
I don’t know about that. The whole starting lineup is from out of state. Also think Ybarra is gonna be a stud.
