In the previous round Maryland only lost to them by 11. MD players said they were getting hit nonstop with nothing getting called but somehow MD got called for 26 fouls and SC got called for only 12
This officiating is atrocious. Defense is easy when you can grab, push and hold. Not thuggish like Georgia but they foul constantly.

Agree and disagree. Davis does not appear to be viable as a ball-handler in this game against this opponent. O'Grady on the other hand is part of our "15 Fouls" strategy to combat SC's bigs.
3s, steals, and free throws. We can make up for some of the rebounding if these factors skew our way.
Got to keep running those SC bigs. Hopefully we just might tire them out, but a fresh Boston in the second half will be hard to beat.

But my gosh our ladies are working HARD in the paint to guard those giants. Going to take a lot of grit to grind out the 2nd half. SC has the depth to keep pounding.

Exactly. Nobody plays these "junk" defenses in division I men's basketball. It is a common adjustment in women's basketball.
We need the bench bigs to play defense and rebound. Have to stop feeding the post when it's not Czinano.
In Fran's defense, we're daring some South Carolina players to shoot 3s. In the men's game you just can't get away with that consistently, even though we still give up 3s regardless of the defense employed.......
