first major snowstorm to hit Iowa on Wed 2/12

5.25" here in south CR. Light and fluffy stuff.

3-5 inches of fluffy easy snow with little wind and everybody cancels school.

40-45 years ago you wouldn’t even get a two hour delay for that.

Kids gotta be loving it.

I don't know about you, but I had to walk to school back in the day, 2 miles uphill the whole way, so no worries about busses.

I've watched this video so many times in the past. It's one of those where you can pick out a different person every time and just watch the clusterphuck unfold. There's a couple boys in there that ride some killer lines in the madness too.

That's additional snow (!) - north of I80 things are not only not going to slow down, there's another blast yet to come.

They're saying there's going to be a strip from say IC to Freeport IL that may get 10" storm total, maybe more.

Coming down pretty steadily here in CR still, another band moving in from the WSW.
