From an attorney on 247, a footnote in their suit:
"Before filing its original complaint and commencing the lawsuit against Florida State, the ACC did not hold a vote requesting that its members, including Clemson, approve of the lawsuit against Florida State. Nor has Clemson ever authorized the ACC's lawsuit against Florida State."

Didn't have time to listen to this yet, any indication of FSU / Clemson going as a pair somewhere? Not some guy in his basement but some actual discussion?
This is a weekly podcast with Tallahassee’s longtime drive time sports radio host and two very good longtime FSU beat writers. That said they didn’t agree on which conference either school would move to or if we would go as a pair.
They did all seem to think that BSPN might now step up and defend the southern geography from Fox and take FSU, Clemson and a couple others from the ACC and move them to the SEC. At least one of them wondered if FSU would turn down the SEC if it has the choice to go to the B1G. Corey, one of the two writers, desperately wants FSU in the SEC.
We may have to drop their FCS program from our schedule after this year.
They figure with both FSU and Clemson gone, the might have at least a 42% chance of winning the conference.
We’re talking about a team that lost to Duke football 5 times.
Four of those in the last ten seasons.
SMU given a vote? Thats a joke right? Be able to call in and listen…sure. Vote though? Didnt think they were truly an “active” member yet.

No. Looks like Miami would still have a
- Losing record against UNC
- @ .500 vs BC, UL, and VT
- Plus Stanford and SMU are joining, Miami will be <.500 against one of them most likely
So, still no All canes conference. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
This was discussed on Seminole Headlines. SMU is not yet a member and when they do join they won’t be a voting member for some period of time. This clown conference just makes it up as they go along.

Definitely some speculation on Clemson and FSU boards that the timing and language suggest FSU and Clemson may have laid a trap and been teaming on this the whole time. It really really hurts the ACC how this all went down with the unapproved janky lawsuit launched prior when another school then sued and says “we were just made aware of this lawsuit and would not have approved”. So basically, reading between the lines... this *may* have been Clemson/FSU's plan the whole time... which looking back now, makes perfect and brilliant sense... let's look at the sequence of events... And no, i'm not a lawyer and i may have everything completely incorrect below, so here goes:
I can't recall the exact date, but back in the fall FSU had a BOT meeting (that was live-streamed) blatantly and openly calling out the ACC for the GOR issues and how FSU was looking into further legal action (which, at the time, i thought was extremely peculiar as to why they were being so brash and public about their intentions while Clemson sat back quietly in the shadows)...then, FSU follows through and files their own lawsuit against the ACC... which leads to the ACC filing a lawsuit (last month in Feb i believe) against FSU... which then immediately opens the door for Clemson to jump into the mix b/c (allegedly) the conference did not seek approval from the other member institutions to file the lawsuit against FSU which breaks some sort of agreement within the GOR...
So essentially, FSU and Clemson purposefully set this trap to get the conference to bite and make a mistake out of sheer arrogance... Brilliant”
That would be collusion if determined to be true. Would be devastating to the arguments by FSU.
Well I am happy to just blame the standard ACC incompetence and arrogance instead.
ACC filed against FSU first, they handed papers to FSU after the BOT meeting in December.
Seems more like semantics:
"The ACC has since countersued FSU. The ACC originally filed its lawsuit against FSU on Dec. 21, 2023, one day before the Seminoles' Board of Trustees approved its lawsuit against the conference."
It was a preemptive strike against what they knew was coming.
Clemson’s filing has a narrower scope and has some different arguments.
Alleging collusion is one thing but proving it could be tough.

He has been kinda an idiot lately saying FSU and Clemson shouldn't leave the ACC.
That was his assigned role in that fiasco. Basically, he was the other side of the "both sides" media play by BSPN. That way they could claim that they had objectively covered the story from both sides. Never mind the fact that they had orchestrated the snub for close to a month.
