Glory up to 133?

Betting against Spencer Lee in March sounds like a good way to go broke. How much you got?
I'm not betting against him, just saying that would be the worst time to see glory. Lee's right knee didn't look great vs minny and his gas tank is still an issue. Two tough matches followed by full feed glory is not ideal, only point I'm trying to make. Would rather see him Saturday night when he's been freshly rested all day I'd think.

What makes you believe Lee’s round of 16 or quarterfinals match will be tough? Have you followed Spencer Lee’s NCAA Tournament career at all?

Glory had to wrestle Ungar at 125 for seeding. Ungar was highly ranked.

Pure speculation: Glory is simply challenging himself by wrestling 133; trying to get the best preparation for NCAAs by wrestling bigger/stronger wrestlers.

Those are McKee or Ramos level matches. Again, I'm bringing this up because of the obvious health issue Lee is battling. This year's Spencer is not the same as Spencer in years past unfortunately. I hope he does turn into his super beast self in March, but given the knee situation this definitely becomes discussion worthy.

What was wrong with it Dr?

Not that you ever add much benefit to this board, but math definitely isn’t one of them. McKee and Ramos are top 5 guys, a 1 seed wouldn’t see them any earlier than the semis…

Spencer is 12-0 scoring bonus is 11/12 matches including 4 first period falls over opponents in the top 7. Not the same? I suppose he’s a bit more dominant than in years past. Kid has never been healthy in college and still not only finds a way to win, but dominates. His record in March at this point is 15-0 and will be 20-0 when it’s all said and done.

I went and looked at rankings and you're absolutely right on Ramos, I did not realize he is up to 3 now. Intermat has McKee at 6 and there's quite a few guys who could get seeded above him come ncaas. He could absolutely be a quarter final match for Spencer as the 1 seed but I contest I was way off on Ramos. Why so salty tho, msu?

Mama says that HR posters are ornery ‘cause they got all them teeth but no toothbrush.

7 of the top 10 at 125 are in the Big 10 per Intermat rankings. These last couple duals and the Big 10 tourney will go a long way to determine seeding. Glory is going to be the 2 seed assuming he wins out. Ramos, McKee, Cronin, and Cardinale from West Virginia will most likely be slotted 3-6. Assuming Lee is 1, he would face an 8 or 9 seed in the quarters. Would be someone like Barnett, DeAugustino, Courtney or Heinselman.

What will the match breakdown be for glory between 133 and 125? How might the seeding committee penalize him for not having all his matches at 125?

They only consider the matches at 125 for seeding purposes. Then they use pre-determined criteria. If Glory wins out, should be the 2 seed.

Ungar was ranked 14th at the time of the Match by FLO. Glory dropping was smart and I don't think it had anything to do with seeding. He could see Ungar at the EIWA Championships--they are the top two ranked guys at that weight, so what does it matter now. The rest of their schedule is soft as it pertains to rankings at 125: Binghamton, Penn Lehigh and Bucknell. He should blow through the schedule. Other than Glory, there are only two guys ranked in the top 20 including Ungar at #14 and Army at #16. That is a weak conference at that weight, so seeding for the EIWA doesn't matter anyway. I don't think Glory wanted to see a revenge minded VITO... I don't blame him, no need for that match. They have split matches in the past with Glory getting the last one, so VITO would have been motivated:)

Also, I don't think it matters when Lee or Glory meets. I've said this in the past. It's a three-day weigh in... That process holds the weight down and inhibits it from getting too high anyway. Also, Lee will have the same benefits of time, so the delta is really in how much more weight does one gain over the other... I don't think that variance will matter. What will matter is the first match on day II--one hour after weigh ins... After making weight on day I and getting two matches in and then having to take the weight off and wrestle a strong opponent early morning with only a 1lb allowance.... Many upsets have happened in the Quarter final round....

I’m imagining a guy like Ramos takes out Glory in the quarters. A guy that’s gonna go-go-go will wear Glory out 1 hour off the scale the second day in a row.

I don't think so. Glory seems to be on a mission and he's not new to the game. He seems to have a solid plan and I think it will work for him right up until he meets Mr. Lee...or perhaps Cronin from Nebr; I like the way he looks against everyone not named Spencer.

Glory will have made weight in the morning (2nd day in a row) and will have to do it again about 14 hours after. That is absolutely not “full feed.” I have no worries about Glory but his best scenario weight-wise is Saturday night, if he makes it. Unfortunately for him, Lee will be in a similar position.

You can speculate but you’d be wrong. He’s been struggling with the cut so he adjusted his plan.

Ungar lost to an unranked Penn Wrestler Ryan Miller 6-1. Ungar also lost to Diego Sotelo #41 1-0. Glory beat Ungar 10-2.

McKee being the only one so far to hold it to a regular decision certainly won't hurt his seeding prospects.

They dont weigh in on Saturday anymore? lol
I think what he’s referring to is that on Friday the 125lbers have to make weight and then wrestle about an hour later. Tough if you’re making big cuts. Sat, they’d weigh in and not have to wrestle till that evening. Theoretically much easier.

They don’t weigh in at night on Friday. Just in the morning. And he referenced Friday night.

I guess i shouldnt use sarcasm over the computer. Im saying Glory wont be on full feed Friday night because he has to weigh in Saturday morning. woof

guarantee you Lee wants Glory and Vito and Fix down to 125. Do you think he wants to be the guy who overwhelmed lesser competition or the one who won the epic battle in a tough weight class? Champions don't think like that. He wants to beat the best.
Just like he did when he won it all as a freshman.

If Lee beat the 14th ranked wrestler in the nation, soon to be 20th ranked, due to losing to an unranked wrestler, 10-2, some on this board would go crazy... It's comical. He's bonused 11 out of 12 guys and has wrestled something like 7 in the top 10.... However, Glory beats a guy by a point earlier in the year that is not a top 10 guy, beats a top 20 guy by 8 and he's gods gift to the weight class:) Also, MSU158, what are you talking about, regarding his knees. No brace, his shots are explosive, and he's improved immensely since ISU. I think he's on pace to be where he wants to be. You do realize that we still have almost 6-weeks from now until the NCAA Tournament. That's a lot of time and there are breaks between Okie State and after Big 10, which are always great training periods... I have no concerns.
