Glory up to 133?

That Midlands match really irritates me. Turning a guy at will in the first and choose down in the 2nd? Why? "Because that's what we do at Iowa". That's the kind of crap that gets you 2nd place over and over again. No game planning and no flexibility in match strategy. Ugh
How many points does Midlands count toward NCAA team standings?

Our coaches are far from perfect but most schools would LOVE to have Brands 4 NCAA titles and lots of top 5 finishes.

I would argue they were game planning having Spencer take down-- Do you know how much mat time he has missed since being on campus? Might have been to see how his shape is, might be a number of diffferent reasons--But dont use Spencer as an example of no game plan and no flexibility--They have had him ready in March everytime.

Both of those matches were when he was battling Lyme (or whatever mysterious malady he had) I don't see him getting ridden like that if he's healthy in March.

I know you can't cure Lyme totally unless you catch it before it becomes a problem, but I feel like he's learned to work around it and it's not affecting him as much since that year. Or he hides it better. I'm sure he'll want to prove he can get out from Glory, but hopefully won't have to, or won't have to choose in the 2nd.

Spencer also wrestled Glory at Midlands. He dominated that match early and gassed hard at the end if my memory serves me correctly.

Thought you were talking about Spencer.

But the point is that McKee is a beast, but mostly on the back side.
no I thought you meant he was taking out Spencer 😂 I get confused easily….. lotta head shots

carry on
You guys should know me better than this, come on man😂

Take care of business in the first. Choose top in the second. Don't even let it go to the third.
Agree. Spencer takes too much pride in being good in all 3 positions (to a fault IMO), even though it sometimes seems to be detrimental to the final score.

Against pretty good/strong riders, he expends a lot of energy on the bottom - and sometimes he loses steam in the second and third periods (and there is a better chance the match makes it to the third period). If he chose up more (or even neutral), he could work on turns and probably expend less energy than starting on the bottom. I think that 1 escape point is not worth the energy it takes to get it against those stronger riders.

Please don’t attack me for saying Spencer has a weakness/fault - he takes too much pride in proving he is also good from the down position. Even though he is good on bottom, he is just better on top than on the bottom - and should be on top as much as possible IMO.

Think it depends how 1st period goes. If he gets a td and a turn I’d say take top. If it’s tied or within 1-2 pry want that escape point.

YES, if he is cruising in the 1st, there is no reason to take bottom. Take top, or neutral. This could even work in his favor as his opponents may choose top thinking they can turn him. Then he can pick up another easy point. He happens to be very good on bottom too. It is just when he was not in top condition for whatever reason where he was held down. If you watch, most of the time he is out pretty quick!

Wtf are you saying? There is no full feed on Friday for anyone weighing in on Sat. Spencer will throttle Glory whenever they meet.
He better. In the 1st period too because if it's close he's in a bit of trouble on the 3rd because he is still gassing in the 2nd.

Wth are you even talking about. A guy that damn near bonuses everyone and his strategy is detrimental to the final score. Just when you think you’ve heard it all. It’s like Lee doesn’t have many 3rd period points, the hell are we talking about

Just saw this posted on Penn St board:

Pat Glory just hurt his right shoulder against Lehigh. It looked bad. He was crying and holding it as he left the mat
