Pretty solid t-storm just blew through. Nothing that we don't see every day this time of year, but strong.
Is it just me or does it seem to be already jogging toward the NE in that loop?
Does Fort Myers not have a primary dune? Mexico Beach doesn't which contributed to the destruction there.
Good luck Florida. Sounds like another strong wave off South America that could threaten the western gulf in about 10 days and more waves starting to fire off the coast of Africa.
No and one thing I remember from the hurricane that hit there is that it is really low lying area. Miami is 9 feet above sea level. Ft Myers is 10 but Ft Myers Beach is 3 feet
Constant rain here in Cape Coral, but wind really wasn't a factor (except both trash cans betting blown over, but lids stayed secured, so no spillage). My rain gauge for the last 24 hours shows 9" fell here, just enough to get it close to the top of the canal seawall, but not over it.
Storm chaser currently in Old Town, FL. This is about 40 miles west of Gainesville
Tornado warning for Marco Island. Thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado-- so must be rotation. It was near Cape Romano or near Marco Island moving northeast at 40 mph.
Marco Island, Belle Meade, Marco Island airport, Royal Palm, Lely Resort,Key marco Fiddlers Creek. and Goodland.

She was fishing east of USF which is far from where this tornado touched down
Another big band going over Ft Myers. For a weak ass broken up storm going over Cuba, this has been kinda impressive.
I fished this morning. Ended up driving home in one of the bands around 11 this morning.
