Well, it's better to beat a terrible team than lose to them. Right?Yay. Aren't we all excited now? We're all so excited......

well we didn't convert on 4th down, fumbled and threw an INT. consider that punting 3 times. We played an entire half without punting and only have a 4 point lead.
Glenn Mason doesn't really know what good football looks like.Did the announcer just say this is a "heck of a ball game"? What game is he watching??? Both of these teams are terrible. Mistakes, turnovers, missed tackles, and bad throws by both teams. No flow at all, no tempo. Two teams playing like B10 bottom feeders. This is the type of game I expect when the Illini play Rutgers. Iowa?
Fairweather fans. There will obviously be growing pains with Stanley, but he's learning from game to game and building on it. At some point the team will gel.
Coaches are doing fine and I'm sure are exasperated at the turnovers and lack of execution at times.
Man some of you guys are gonna be so bummed when Iowa wins this game. Sucks to be you....
One would assume....Well, it's better to beat a terrible team than lose to them. Right?
You’re a freakin idiot.Go into halftime and don't say a frickin word to each other. The staff and the players all deserve to lose this game.

yeah, he should have said terrible game, turn the channel....seriously. Competitive, close in score... "heck of a ball game" can mean different things to different people...to the announcer he probably wants a close score than a big Iowa win...Did the announcer just say this is a "heck of a ball game"? Or folks who would like to watch decent football. Or both? You decide bruh, you’ve apparently got it figured out.My goodness this thread is full of whiners.
So would you guys rather they didn't pull out all the stops? Coaches can't help IKM fumbling on our first series. If we score after Illinois's initial fumble we might just have stomped them right down. Instead they got the momentum right back. Stanleys pick put them right back in plus territory. And NO I'm not calling to replace him yet. These last couple of weeks have been a struggle for Nate, but he keeps getting up and fighting back. We'll find out this season if he's going to be the guy going forward.LOL, pulling out all the stops against.... Illinois

Not disagreeing, but I am getting tired of the “we knew we wouldn’t be good so you can’t be upset about it” excuse for mediocrity.Anyone who thought this game was going to be easy has not watched enough Iowa football this fall- tackling needs cleaned up. I think we still cover but knew this would be tough
My goodness this thread is full of whiners.
He started four games last year. Are you seriously satisfied with how Iowa is playing at home against Illinois with a 1st time QB? Iowa played pitifully. If they had played like this against PSU or MSu they would have lost by three TDs or more. Iowa clearly had more talent than Illini, but play like they don't, playing scared, playing nervous, don't have any tenacity. This is not Iowa football. They need to wake up.

well no shit, but what do you want him to say?Just because the game is close does not make it a "heck of a game." Iowa vs. Michigan State in the B10 championship game, a 13-9 game, that was a great game. These two teams are playing like they're in the MAC. They'd both probably lose to Central Michigan if they played them today.

More like, we wish they didn’t have to. Any Iowa fan paying attention for the last decade could see this type of crap game against one of the leagues worst teams coming all week long. This has been a pitiful so far.So would you guys rather they didn't pull out all the stops? Coaches can't help IKM fumbling on our first series. Listen I can get as frustrated as the next guy, but there is a threshold you have to kind of try not cross to not come across as... well I won’t say what. I get the frustration but some of you are going overboard.
OMG... 4 yard slant 3rd and 5 followed by a bad punt with an illegal formation
Pass interference will doGoing to call a hold sometime on Illinois O-line? Geepers
