*****Iowa vs Mich St (BTT) Game Thread*****

If we can beat Sparty Ohio State is waiting for us. The fact that we'll be playing our 3rd game in 3 days always looks like a negative, but in this case it might almost be to our advantage after our starters only played an average of 20 minutes each vs Wisconsin. Not as much of a fatigue factor and the familiarity of already playing 2 games in a new arena.

Iowa has a deep bench and might be the catalyst to playing their best ball of the season. They look like they are on a mission right now.

The 8pm start time is an estimate, depending on the three earlier games. Seems unlikely to start early like last night, but it is possible.

In the first matchup vs MSU Iowa had 23 turnovers, Lucy was 4-17 with 7 turnovers, Syd was 1-6 shooting and Iowa lost by 2. Obviously both teams have evolved since that game but if Syd and Lucy play like they have in the last month and Iowa can cut the turnovers down to the 12-15 range I think they will win.

While MSU’s press caused problems, In that game Iowa had numerous really dumb turnovers in the half court offense, The offense wasn’t cohesive and they were in the midst of trying to force the ball into the post from the wing with poorly executed passes throwing lobs over the fronted post player and MSU sent a 2nd defender behind Iowa’s post. I don’t expect a repeat of that shit show.

Can Kylie guard Julia Ayrault & will she. I honestly don’t have much question that she can really, Ayrault, although good, is 6-2 but not terrifically athletic. With that said, she will spend plenty of time inside and I’m not sure if this is where Kylie belongs or not?

Honestly that game pissed me off so much I shut it out, but looking back Olsen was 4–17 and we had 23 turnovers and we let Nyla Hampton go off in the fourth quarter.

We out rebounded them by nine…now again I understand I’ve got my black and gold glasses on and sippin’ the Kool-Aid but there’s a chance we blow them off the floor.

We aren’t even remotely the same team. They won’t even be able to guard us in similar fashion. SA had 4 pts 1-6, Guyton played 8 minutes, Taylor played 12.

Holy weird timing Batman I literally posted something similar just now without knowing you were also penning something

Only watched MSU once and they beat Iowa early in the year, so have no idea how they match up now. I guess I would guess close game with a late shot to win. No idea which team wins, hopefully Hawks.

Iowa wins by 15.
Very optimistic IMO. More likely to come down to a one or two possession game.

Iowa has better shooters/scorers. But MSU is relentless with the full court defensive pressure.

Several more factors could influence the outcome … like 2nd chance points and, of course, officiating.

I foresee a seesaw game for the Hawkeyes. Several stretches of 5-8 point leads evaporated by TOs leading to MSU comebacks, a close game right to the end … Hawks pull ahead at the FT line late in the 4thQ.
Iowa 72
MSU 68

Today's slate of games is much better than yesterday, I have to think the crowd will be much larger.

Tonight’s game link.
I flipped on the Washington-Michigan WBB game on Foxsports to check the link for later. Michigan is up by a point at half time. Bluder was sitting with the other analysts sound good and confident. Could become a regular gig.

Tonight Iowa WBB. At approximately 8pm Iowa time depending on how long other games go. Watch on incognito browser for one hour preview. Refresh every quarter.
