*****Iowa vs Mich St Game Thread*****

Same with Tate—great sophomore year then steady decline after.
Here's a simple stat I posted a while back on this board.

EVERY SINGLE multi-year-starter QB (not named Stanley) had fewer wins their final year (at Iowa) than the year prior.
Tate
Stanzi
Vanderbearkiller
Rudock
Beathard
Petras

That's not a coincidence. KF coaches the testosterone out of them. 2012 he didn't want a controversy so Vandy got every snap while an elite-11 QB was used as a punter and another QB named cody sokol would transfer in disgust and lead his new team to a stellar season with a bowl victory. KF is the most stubborn person to ever walk into Kinnick stadium.

We're just not really any good. I think it's time we all admit that. That's pretty much all this is. A decent team beats teams like MSU and ISU with relative ease. A good team competes with OSU but a great team beats them.

We're none of those things.

In all honesty, we all knew this season was a bust as soon as they lost to ISU at home. I had Iowa still likely winning at least 7 games but I don't know about that any longer. It seems more than they're capable of. Should've trusted my initial instinct so as not to be let down. Oh well.

IDK how many spots we gained in the rankings of offense, since a year ago, but we have to have fallen that many in defense. Seems the "big recruiting win" of getting everyone to come back, wasn't such a big deal after all. We were pretty elite in defense and special teams and now we are just pretty good in special teams. If I didn't know better I would say we are going the wrong direction.

Being a wrestling fan, I’m glad the linebackers came back, even though our defense looks worse. This gave our wrestling team a full season with Ben Keuter at heavyweight. If Ben doesn’t break the starting lineup in next years shit show football team, he may want to quit football and concentrate on the sport he is one of the best in the country and world at, wrestling.
