If not for Caitlin, Iowa gets blown out.
The betters that got in early at -7.5 are happy but there are a slew of people that lost money betting the line later.
When they lost the lead in the fourth, I told my wife, no worries, Iowa will win by 9/10 pts.

Once Iowa decided to play tighter defense, ISU didn't have much.
I think Iowa underestimated them a bit...or at least didn't respect their outside shooting.

Thoughts on the game:
- looked like we coasted for much of this game, only doing enough to keep our distance and be in position to pull away at the end. Anyone saying we were pushed by Iowa State doesn't understand what Iowa looks like when they're playing at their best and what they look like when they're just going through the motions on offense...........
- and when you play like that and shoot like we did, you allow teams like Iowa State to hang around and have hope. They are not a bad team by any means, but they will also be a fringe NCAA team unless the rest of the Big 12 turns to dog water or Iowa State all of the sudden turns into 8-man football state champion Bishop Garrigan and not even South Carolina can stop the juggernaut that the Cyclone women have become in April compared to what we saw tonight
(Yes that is what Garrigan essentially did....or everyone else in 8 man stopped trying just for them this year.........well except for the team they lost to)
- Clark was in chucker mode tonight. Lots of "I missed a shot so I'm gonna shoot another one in frustration" shots by her in this one and she tends to get that way, especially in the first third of the season.
But at least she was 5-5 on FTs!!
- Crooks looked better than I expected for her first year, and I think she'll only continue to get better as she develops and gains a more athletic body training at the college level (assuming she puts in the time).

No disagreement, but she was out last year due to ACL tear, right? Maybe being cautious with her usage still? Although I want to say it was injured in offseason, so we should be at 15+ months after that if not more?

They have to keep their players first. It’s easy to forget half their team transfered out last year. Their best recruiting class in history was the class of 2020 and 3 of 4 left.

Last spring several on this board questioned Audi Crooks and her ability to adjust to Power 5 WBB. You did not know her work ethic and her mental approach to the game. She is only going to get better as she continues to develop as a Division 1 player. With additional strength and conditioning along with the benefits of nutrition at the Power 5 level she will be a force to reckon with. While I didn't think she would be doing as well as she has so far, I didn't doubt her.

I always thought she’d be good. I think Ava Heiden will be able to keep up with her if not surpass her. She has more ups + dawg in her.

She always seemed bound for ISU. She played for Cy-Select rather than AIA and then had a death in the family. I would guess staying close to home sealed the deal for her.

She's effective early tonite, but against teams that push the ball upcourt, as Iowa usually does, she doesn't have the stamina to play many minutes in 2nd half.
Her second half stats confirm that. I believe Goodman? had a block and some steals against her.
The challenge for the Clone coaches is to get her in better shape going forward.
The negative is her pure bulk is an advantage right now early in games.
She gives up one advantage to gain another.
She had 12 points and 8 rebounds in 1st half...3 points and 2 rebounds in 2nd half.
