I wasn’t so sure this team was going to have the firepower this year to win the whole thing - but after playing terrible in that first half against a final four team, they’re still winning.
It seems like VT is shooting a lot better than that but I guess not. So really, whichever team can find the basket first wins. Defenses should be given some credit but it has helped VT that Marshall couldn't hit water if she fell out of a boat tonight. They have pretty much just left her unguarded so they can double team Clark and letting her shoot bricks and airballs all night. If she can turn it around in the second half that would likely break the game open for Iowa.

I believe Ediger has been injured for awhile, Not sure if she still is but recently she has been in a walking boot.
Actually, if you think about it. We're not in bad shape up by 1 considering how poorly we shot and we had to sit Stuelke, Martin, and Davis due to foul trouble. They should be well rested. The offensive flow was better with those 3 in the game and Stuelke and Martin (aside from 1 bucket by SA) were the only girls to provide any offensive to support Clark.
I think everyone's concerns about the team showed in the first two quarters. Finding a reliable 3rd scorer, production from Goodman or OGrady, Gabbie or Kate adding more offensively, Feuerbach being able to provide anything, Davis being able to compete with elite teams. Certainly nice to be up with how poorly they shot the ball from 3
I feel good right now about the 2nd half. Iowa 1-15 three-point shooting, Hannah missed most of 2nd quarter, Clark drew a ton of fouls from their backcourt, and we are leading. Our three pointers will start falling.
Affolter and Feuerbach really go get the ball. 5 offensive rebounds between them. Very un-Iowa like. Unfortunately they are un-Iowa like as shooters, though I have some hope for Feuerbach as a shooter.
Gabby 0/8 to start the year. And some have been really bad
Only 4 Hawks have scored. Bench only 2 points. I have to believe they are just pressing. Relax and play your game. We are outplaying them in all things but 3 point shooting. No time to panic
Freshmen definitely need to step up more, but it's November and this is their 2nd game. They will get better. Hopefully we can get just enough out of them to pull this game off though.

I thought the same thing. Especially with our shorter height and Kitley, their 6-6 ACC Player of the year, all-American center
These refs are so bad. I'm waiting for this to be a tech foul against Iowa.
What the hell are they reviewing? A Big Ten ref could see that her teammate hit her.
