*****Michigan vs Iowa Game Thread*****

Was Michigan not in the circle where you can’t be called with a charge or am I mistaken?
1) the restricted arc is for secondary defenders only and attempting to taking a charge while completely outside of it. New interpretation this year is you must be completely set on the plant step of the airborne shooter with no sideways movement to get torso in front of torso. Automatic block. If you start as a secondary defender within the arc on a dribble drive you must jump and contest or you're called for being grounded in the arc with contact. 2) exceptions. If a ball handler driving to the rack does a jump stop in front of the secondary defender, that defender now becomes a primary and the arc doesn't exist. other exception. Post player catches pass, he is being guarded by primary defender so arc doesn't exist on that sequence either.

Hey Texas A&M came from a 12 point deficit against UNI with about 45 seconds left. There's still hope here.

Year 1:.....11-20, 4-14
Year 8:....14-19, 4-14
Year 14:......5-5, 0-2

Year 1 Fran inherited Gatens, re-recruited Marble to go to Iowa after lickliter was fired, brought in Aaron White and Basabe. That is lot better core than what this team appears to have.

This team looks worse than the Year 8 team which had Freshmen Bohannon and Cook.

He always shoots best when the pressure is off
Well he's nearly incapable of taking a good shot during a real game.

Everything is fading to one side, off one foot rushed bullshit.

He thinks he's a great shooter when in reality he's only a good shooter.

Unfortunately P. Sandfort like our old friend Ogelsby are good at the game of HORSE....less so
when being defended.

So Fran gets tossed for saying something while in the coach's box. Let's see if Izzo ever gets so much as a stern look for ANY of the times he's crying at mid court.
Fran was jawing at Doug Sirmoms. Doug Sirmons would T up the Pope. He'd run his own mother. The quickest whistle in basketball. Fran might be out of control a lot, but that Sirmons really thin-skinned. Which is too bad as he really isn't too bad outside the quick Ts.

Thanks for bringing facts. In the end it doesn't matter what the rules say because refs like to reward Oscar winning acting performances where dudes launch themselves backwards to sell incidental contact. Maybe Fran has same opinion, but even if you don't like flopping in the game, you are at a disadvantage in college B-ball if you don't flop and try to get calls. Guys like Krikke, Sandfort, Pmac that have trouble staying in front of their guys on defense ought to be flopping. I don't know if I've ever seen PMAC take a charge.
