MVP of the game...

Everyone played well but the unsung hero was Bakari Evelyn... once he got in, he was able to control the offense and settle things down... some of his entry passes down low were excellent and his ability to just command this offense and get the ball to the correct players is crucial for this current squad

Not to go all Franisdaman and bump my own thread, but this is good point.

One could argue that Connor is anywhere from the second to fourth most valuable team member to this team this year.
What’s crazy is that Connor is fully capable of getting a bucket himself when needed. Ultimate team/selfless player, along with Evelyn. Guys on this team know their roles

1. The fans that showed up tonight!!!!

2. Garza, as usual

3. Kriener in the first half in particular

4. CJ

5. Weezy

6. Everybody else
It was a great game by RK and he was HUGE in that 18-2 run, but I'll still have to push him down to JUST below CJ and JW.
Those 3s and more importantly, those FT won us the game in the end. I've been waiting to see us close out a tight one like this and man was that refreshing!! :D
RK played great though, and most night his effort would have been deserving of top 2....just a great night by a lot of guys.

CJ took and drained most every shot when Michigan made a run. All 6 of the guys balled out. Garza would get my vote, because everything stems from his play. CJ seems to want to take the big shots and he had the ball in his hands out front more tonight. Throw J Bo into the mix next year and we could average 90.

We aren’t Ralph Millers 6 pack, but these 6 are pretty good.

Connor McCaffery - 0pts 13rebs 5 assists. Every good team needs a garbage man.

Exactly. Everyone last year and going into this year wanted to gripe about his shooting but good teams don’t need ten guys that want to shoot you need guys willing to get down and dirty, to fi the little things, and be mentally tough - that is McCaffrey.

Of course Garza, Weezy and CJ but Conner and Bakari don't make a lot of mistakes and let the scorers take care of business. I was thinking when Michigan had to foul at the end of the game what it would be like to have Jobo at the line. Shut the door, lock it and turn out the lights. I'm still adjusting to JW in that role but he has stepped up and I think CJ will also. Go Hawks!!!

A big time addition to this team. He is a solid shot of glue.

All in all a great team effort! Take any one player out of this game and the outcome would be different! Go Hawks!!

Four players scored 88 of the 90 points. 22 assists on 27 made baskets. 27 of 30 from the free throw line. 38 to 25 advantage on the boards. This team is a bunch of blue collar players who mesh very well. This could be a special year.

I respect anyone who understands their role. He'll keep a defense honest and pop some shots when they lay off, but Connor knows his game. He was fantastic tonight.

He’s been good all year and was good in his role last year as a back-up PG. A lot of people tried to make him sound horrible because he’s not a great shooter and wondered why he was in instead of Moss in second half and end of games - it’s because he was mentally tougher and understood his role better then Moss. He’s a player plain and simple.

It’s a long haul in the B1G conference schedule especially this year with a lot of teams playing well and road wins hard to come by. Extremely impressive win for the Hawks against a Michigan team who played well tonight on the road in that environment.

Watching the post game....

Fran said "if you are watching game tape, you respect Ryan Kriener"

Was in response to the question of "do you think Ryan Kriener is under appreciated?"

I wouldn't go that far but he was good tonight. Toussaint has been so bad though that just having a guy that doesn't turn it over and doesn't regularly miss layups is an upgrade. Evelyn is just OK occasionally.

Shooting was a bigger issue at the pg spot than what hes doing now.

And plus now hes shooting when open so win win.

Yeah, that might be true but there was still a lot of ridiculous hand-wringing about him last year and early this year when there was always way bigger issues than him. He likely will never be a big scorer or great shooter but he has shown time and again how valuable he is in many other ways.

CJ provides that proverbial reliable threat to score that a good team needs. Hard to shut down three good shooting guys that have multi-dimensional scoring abilities. Two guys you can consistently cover, three is hard and when CMac hits a couple of threes we are very hard to stop at all.

Surprised me when they said that, but then I realized he was at the line a lot, that's why it was a quiet 20. Three 3's and 9-10 from the line.

Yep. That's why he's so good. He can get his in s many ways and he's fine to step back at times to let others do their thing.
