*******NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS*******

Hard to win a wrestling match if you don't get a takedown.
Actually Byrd just proved you wrong. We've seen so much real stalling in this tournament and they decide the championship on action on the edge right after Drake escaped. To me that's the key. He had just put forth obvious effort to escape and was fighting off a td attempt on the edge when they both went ob. What's Drake supposed to do there?

Guys, he got marched around the mat, sat on the edge, took 0 shots, and almost got taken down like 3 times and was saved by the edge. That’s stalling.
He attempted about 6 slide bys and got to byrds legs at least once. Byrd threw in unders and pushed him around the mat. That last stall call was shit. First one was fine. Drake threw in a whizzer fought to his legs and Byrd thew in an under. Drakes hips were parallel to the mat when the second stall was called. He was circling back in.

I like you as a poster. You’re generally knowledgeable, but you’re off on this one man.

Get this trash out of here.

Anyone posting an Iowa wrestler deserved to lose in the NCAAs finals should be an autoban.
Why? Byrd was the better wrestler. The better wrestler usually deserves to win, no?

I love Drake. I was in a stance for the whole match. I’m gutted for him. But Byrd outwrestled him by every measure and if that was our guy, we would have been apoplectic if the official let his opponent get away with what Drake was doing.

All the other 4 timers didn't, that's what matters
No, that’s not how it works, there were a few thousand people that had a chance to win for and I don’t know if any other than Brooks 13. Everyone knows Dan Gable only had a chance to win three that falls a sport, everyone also knows that until Carter had that fifth year due to Covid that four times was the standard. It’s not like we have 64 time. Champs, we have seven and 1 five time champ.
