He was also involved in a nationally covered incident with former teammate and star running back Lawrence Phillips when Phillips was accused of assaulting his former girlfriend. According to a The Daily Nebraskan report from 1995, Frost became involved in the assault when Phillips dragged former girlfriend Kate McEwen down a flight of stairs.

Frost intervened and helped pull Phillips off of McEwen and engaged in a physical fight with Phillips. A witness to the fight said Frost repeated, “What about football?” during his interaction with Phillips.

Regarding the Lawrence Phillips situation - I have no idea what actually happened. Here is what a Washington Post article from 1995 says:

"Running back Lawrence Phillips, an early Heisman Trophy contender, was arrested Sunday after allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old former girlfriend. According to police records and witnesses who spoke to the Omaha World-Herald and the Daily Nebraskan, Kate McEwen, a sophomore guard on the Nebraska women's basketball team, was the subject of a tug-of-war between Phillips and backup quarterback Scott Frost. Phillips and Frost each were pulling on her, and McEwen allegedly was dragged down several stairs and hit during the fracas."

I've googled quite a bit, and the only place I see references to Frost hiding in a closet is in non-reputable sights and sources. All articles that reviewed the police report make no mention of it. They only say Phillips broke into the apartment at 4 am, found his ex-girlfriend who was now with Frost, and threw her on the bathroom floor then dragged her down three flights of stairs. Then Frost and another person pulled her away from him. Do you have evidence that he hid in a closet? Or is that rumor that serves as fact for people whose biases it confirms?

This might have been a situation where the staff asks an in state recruit if he would consider becoming a preferred walk on to free up a scholarship for an out of state kid of equal talent and the promise of a scholarship after a year in the program. I have heard of the Iowa staff doing this before and it working out well for everybody. Sometimes the parents of the recruit consider it an insult but I think it gives the staff a good idea what kind of character the kid has because if that kid really wants to be part of the University of Iowa football team he will bite the bullet so to speak for the better of the team

Yes, the golden part of this is that Osborne spun this like "if you hadn't been hooking up with her, LP wouldn't have been enraged to do what he did. Tom was so concerned with LP's rehabilitation he kept him on the team to counsel him. Hilarious. A little like Charles Manson being a child psychiatrist.

It says what it says, that the incident didn't help his relationship with the team. It doesn't say what you want it to say. It doesn't say the team was mad at Frost for brining attention to the incident.

Frost was hooking up with a teammates' ex-girlfriend. He broke bro-code, and the team, who already wasn't thrilled with Frost for turning Nebraska down, wasn't happy about it.

1. That isnt how bro code works on a sports team, if multiple people bang the same chick usually it's high fives around.

2. It sure as hell does you are just not acknowledging it.

3. While someone might be upset a former spouse was banging someone new, why the f would the teammates care unless they knew LP was crazy and going to do something stupid and frost banging that chick expedited it?

The team didnt like frost because he was a punk who went off to Stanford and put fuel on a fire they knew to be thier best player. That culture was trash.

That Scott Frost was banging LP's ex and that Frost did not prevent her from getting her ass kicked while in his apartment and drug down three flights of stairs. Even you Nubtards with your head in the sand have to agree that it's a pretty bad look. Plenty of evidence he hid in the closet for a while if you care to look for it. The more likely scenario is that you Nubs will just continue to defend blindly. Sad but expected

Oh I agree, but 4-3 Iowa lead does feel much more than just 4-3, at least on Iowa's end. Just a matter of competitive vs. onslaught. Iowa has been competitive or better in every game this series. Nebraska has been a far cry from competitive, overall.

(He was not, they were ex's, LP was a nutcase and the players knew he would do something stupid and cost them the stud RB. So they told scott dont mess with her, not because it was the right thing to do, because they had a culture of overlooking the stupid stuff for wins.)

L.p. was in fact crazy and the team didnt like scooter because he was and still is a b1tch. You can deny it all.you want but the team didnt like frost because he put a match on the gas that was L.P. not because they were good people.

UL wasn't happy about her getting LP arrested either. They yanked her basketball scholarship while he got charged with midemeanor assault and sat 6 games and got rehabilitated in time for their bowl game.

Ha. This is to easy. You might want to look into what rhabdomyolysis is and what steroids actually do. It's pretty hard to over work and break down your muscle past the point of recovery when you are putting something in your body that allows you to recover at an unnatural rate.

Let me guess "doctor" is a P.H.D. not an M.D.?

C'mon man, you claim to be of a science background and you want to use that as your refrence? People that take steriods work out, people that over work out can get rhabdomyolysis. You are not going to find any scientific data that says steroids cause rhabdo.
