With the way this was officiated, you couldn't tell who was better.
Well, when Illinois gets bounced in round two because Ayo gets called for 12 travels and Cockburn fouls out in the first 4 minutes of the second half, I'll feel a lot better.
Kofi was protected by the officials with zero fouls in the first half. He fouled garza literally every single trip on offense and defense.
Not having refs hurt. This was not a type of game for Nunge.
Probably affected the money they had on the game. I'd rather that be the excuse... But I'm afraid they are just incompetent

Illinois is the better team but I just hate the holding away from the ball on Weezy, CJ and JBo and the grabbing on the screens. The 5 travels a Jr High ref would see sucked as well...
He has always struggled against guys his size or a little bigger and are physical with him.

The numerous complaints about the sliding (not rolling, sliding) and wondering why Garza didn’t foul says a great deal about the BB knowledge on this board.
Illinois is good but they'll struggle in the tournament when they can't play football on the basketball court.
They'll adjust... After Cockburn fouls out in the 1st half of every game.

Our Hawks had a good showing in the tournament. Illinois is the hottest team in the country and we hung with them the whole way. Nunge being out hurt more than ever today, and if we can dodge a big man like Cockburn the rest of the way, I still like our chances to make a run to at least the Sweet 16. Go Hawks!
