*****OFFICIAL IOWA vs. isu Game Thread*****

Joe T needs to be in the game when it comes to end of half possessions. JBo is just not a threat handling the ball, he needs to be coming off screens and off ball movement.

Cooled off at the tail end of the half. All things considered, in a very good spot. These first 5 minutes of the second half will be huge. Extend the lead and I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'd rather be up 15 than down 15. However, McC teams have shown no deficit is too deep to overcome and no lead too large to squander.

C'mon boys, let's beat down the Clowns and save all that livestock.

Additional observation. Held the Clowns to 24 first half points. That's pretty good D.

I agree but some in here think Joe causes stagnation in the offense. Have to have a guy who can drive the ball or ISU's ball pressure and overplaying will cause Iowa's offense to sputter.

Need to double down on Jacobsen just like we did against Oturo last game.
As soon as he gets the ball in the post, 2 guys collapse on him and try to take it away.

We need to come out MOVING on offense to start the 2nd half.

No stagnant standing around, taking 15 seconds to run one f***ing set play or pick and roll only to settle for a contested 3.........

There's zero reason for that to happen.

Of course it would help if the refs don't keep their whistles in their throats where they swallowed them at the end of the 1st half, as well........o_O

I fall in the camp of really wanting to see a lot of Joe T, he makes stuff happen.

Kriener having a decent night. Need him, Garza, and Connor at the 5-4 spots exclusively for the second half.

No foul trouble at this point so I'd like to close out with the starting 5 + Joe T & Ryan K (save some foul trouble, injury, or somebody is really gassed).

Gotta say that the crowd seems terribly unknowledgeable about basketball. Just booing at anything that happens. More annoying than intimidating I think.

Yea, I noticed the 1-8 shooting from JBo but I agree with Fran's comments in a post-game interview that he really is a calming influence on the rest of the team. He brings a certain attitude, as does Connor & Garza.

And he's so close on those 3 balls - in and out. It's the floaters that don't seem to be zeroed in - probably due to him not being able to elevate very well with the hip injury.
