*****OFFICIAL IOWA vs. psu Game Thread*****

Youre damned if you do and damned if you don’t. But I’m sure your coaching expertise, having watched all 10 minutes of this game, knew that.
You're getting ridiculous. Did u watch the game on BTN? I'm simply restating what the t.v. analysts said.

Lack of defense...zone is garbage for giving up offensive rebounds and 2nd shots. Gave up 89 points on road vs PSU and we gave up 100 pts to Michigan in previous road game.

Very true - but any idea how many of those points were scored off easy turnovers? I'm guessing 10 or 12.

What I do know is that Iowa had a lead for several minutes in the last 10 sooo I certainly wouldn't blame the loss on the officiating.

Saw a TON of missed free throws and some bad defense. I saw Touissant pass the ball to Garza when he had a CLEAN layup from right under the basket - Garza fouled and missed both.

Well if they had the lead......

I saw two if not three phantom calls or shot blocks get called a foul. I saw C McCaffery get raped going to the hoop with nothing called. You saw that too. I saw every 50/50 ball get called off of Iowa. I saw two players slide on their ass which resulted in traveling because of a shitty court. I saw a continuation play called that would leave most NBA fans questioning the rule. I saw a flop warning issued, but ignored when it happened again shortly after. This is just off the top of my head.

Such bullshiit. If only the players and coaches would have consulted with all us posters throughout the game, would’ve won easily. The players didn’t even give effort, they turned the ball over intentionally, missed free throws on purpose, refs were against us, the court was not suitable, unacceptable. I’m going to my rally now....

Great game, two programs fighting for themselves, loved all of it. I miss games in old arenas where staffers are scrambling for fans to blow the floor dry. Man I miss this type of atmosphere.

Same shit, though, with refs. I’ve posted this in the past, maybe back when I slummed it in the Lounge. Always, well, damn near always, the team that is behind at the 8 minute mark on in is allowed much physicality. Today it was our wings doing the right thing, drove it vs pressure—mostly Joe W—and every time there was the hand in the stomach. But players know this is the deal. Hopefully Joe W’s progression is to figure out how to score through that late-game pressure and physicality.

Love this team.

Oh Bardo is an expert, excuse me. Bardo the same Illini homer who said he liked the no call on Connor’s drive? That Stephen Bardo?

The annual PSU kicked our arse so let's cry about sAndusky.

I love it. I hope you are crying about Sandusky after we wrestle Iowa.
Great game. This Iowa team is even better than I thought.

It's unfortunate that the refs influenced the outcome at the end. That game could have gone either way.

Typical Big Ten reffing. Always inconsistently bad. Iowa did nothing to make me believe they aren’t a pretty good team.

Care for a friendly wager on the wrestling dual? Iowa wins you donate $50 to the HWC and if PSU wins I will donate $50 to the charity of your choice. I know the NLWC is over funded so if you would prefer a non profit dealing with juvenile victims of sexual assault I would totally understand.

Chambers’ Penn State teams are always miserable to watch. It’s a 40 minute hackfest when they are on defense.

LOL I'm sure I will. Nobody puts BBHawk in a corner..
He he. You got far more grief about your post than mine, and for good reason.

But bad officiating aside, too many careless passes by Iowa is why they lost. Cannot depend on or blame the refs for everything.

Tough loss but I thought the Hawks played pretty well in a hostile environment. Losing CJ hurt rotating only 7 wore us out a little. The one thing I thought we could have done better towards the end was getting it to Luka. It felt like he didn't get many opportunities under the 4 minute mark

Turnovers have a massive impact on games. Coaches scream and scream about it. If I were a coach, for every turnover, practice and game a like, it’s a line drill. Only way to assign accountability to it. Make them understand the importance of it. Or, take away game time. If you remember the years wisky was good and making all those runs, very few turnovers. More shots than your opponent. How good are your chances of winning if you get 50 shots and your opponent gets 70.

Take care of the ball.
Hit FTs (although Garza was GASED)
Play in a gym that has climate controls newer than 1920.
Get highschool level refs instead of middle school.

Peace out
Garza's shot was off from the line all game today. Just about everything was to the right today. Being tired is a poor excuse for missing fts.

And some days you are just off. He missed free throws. Ok. We get it. Throw the baby out with the bath water apparently. W out garzilla we get run out of that gym today. The rest of the team could’ve made all the free throws they wanted and still got smoked w out that guys that missed his today.

I get it, we're the dominant wrestling school, beating you in football every year, and now beating you in basketball. How bout...good game, hope to get you next time?

Why does it seem that when Iowa is bringing the ball up, Lamont Simpson is in Toussaint’s back pocket? Give him some space.
Not gonna lie I was legit concerned for Simpson. He was really really winded and I think the heavy, humid air was getting to him.

Also , you are way ahead of Iowa in coaches soddomizing young boys.

1. Good game, hope to get you next time.
2. We usually win in Basketball
3. Dominant wrestling school? Are we talking the last 2-3 years...then yes...dominant wrestling school is and will always be Iowa.
4. You've made several posts today and only have 6 here but have been on rivals for 12 years.
Obvious you don't follow your own advice and say good game yourself. You show up when you win and are no where to be found when you lose.

Yeah I noticed him at one point laboring in front of the Iowa bench to get to the other side of the court. I thought, how many more years does he have left?
