24 hour game notification, 2:30 game on, Saturday September 3. Luv Iowa.

Good afternoon,

Hi, welcome back, to another season. we made it. Can't remember an offseason, with this much excitement for our Hawks. And I started the game threads last year and I'll continue with those, responsibilities. My record last year when starting game threads is well documented around these parts and with that your welcome. I fully expect our Hawks to run the table and make a return trip to Indy. I really like what we have at running back and linebacker, this year very underrated players. Here's to a great start and blowing the doors off Miami.

Miami 12
IOWA 45

Go Iowa Go

Wut are you talking about? I created every OGT last year and the year before. How about contributing to the thread? What are your keys to the game?

How was Miami's week of practice? Anyone?
I heard it was a good week of practice, coaching staff is very encouraged by, the strides made from last years team. Said the defense is the strong unit and will provide a good push upfront against, the Hawks O line. Obviously stuff they gotta say to make it sound like it should be a comptitive game. Like I said before Iowa should role in this one and cover the spread.

Were you the one that got super butthurt whenever anybody else started game threads and would post constantly in your own until everybody just used yours?

Yes.

It was like game four or so. QC and I had started the other ones. He started one after we started ours then would post constantly in it for the game. Then for the rest of the season he would start won on Friday or so (which is bad luck) and claim he was the official poster -- not that we care or anything who starts one just follow the rules -- and that he was responsible for all the wins.

If you guys start one, I'll post in it.:) Can't have somebody who doesn't post all offseason trying to take game thread privileges

Edit: Premium Scent. That was their name

Bingo. Forgot the name.

I don't care who starts them. I just want people to follow the rules. For good luck start them the day of the game (just like SAB is the day after) and don't get all sanctimonious about it like OP.

Lol what are the "rules"?

Former Hawkeye DT Corey Brown (2001-2005), who followed HC Chuck Martin from Notre Dame to MOO in 2014, is their DL coach.

Beathard to VandeBerg might go down as one of the better pass combos in Iowa history if MVB improves on his 65 reception junior year but I suspect a lot of eyes will be focusing on #3 when Iowa has the ball today. Jay Scheel could be the missing piece of the puzzle for Iowa's B10 title hopes. Big question is whether he can avoid the injury bug.

I'm calling it now - Scheel scores today on a 45 yard strike from CJB.

here's some fun facts about today's opponent:

"
Miami’s offense is experienced. It returns 10 starters, including it’s top five rushers, top four receivers and four of five linemen, and seven starters on defense.

Martin cautions that the group must learn from last year’s mistakes or it will suffer the same fate. He believes his team is positioned for a step forward.

“I think you’ll notice a big difference even against Iowa. And I know we’re a prohibitive underdog. I just think you’ll notice a difference in how we play. Visually it will be different. I think everybody that’s watched us, even in spring and against UMass (in the ’15 final game), it’s a different visual to watch our team compete right now,” he said.

First mention of the Hawks 40 minutes into BTN's Saturday Kickoff Show. Making me wait only enhances my anticipation for kickoff in I.C.

I'm just frustrated/jealous that we have to wait until 230 to watch the Hawkeyes! Time is dragging!!!
