That PI non-call defies explanation. They didn't actually miss it -- they were looking right at it, yet refused to call it.
I think refs sometimes over-think PI and overcompensate when trying not to be influenced by the fans, to the point where they let an obvious PI go un-called. Yes, it's important not to make a knee-jerk call when the defender makes a good play, but when it's PI, you have to make the call, whether the home fans are going nuts or not. That play wasn't remotely close to a gray area. The defender face guarded AND clearly made contact well before the ball arrived. NO EXCUSE not to make that call!
