UCLA close loss to Arizona last nite opened the door for PU...if they can finish today vs PSU.
Both those teams are nasty. I'm really high on Penn St with those guards but they will play their way "Up" to an 8 today with a win?! Maybe we "drop" to a 10?! 🤞
I wish I felt differently, but I don't know when I've been less excited to find out where/who the Hawks play.
I was the same after Thursday but thinking back to the last year of Alford and Lick era that quickly went away. Plus, OSU went on a run and we should have beaten them. Only reason I'm a bit bummed is just knowing we are likely doomed on the 8/9 line.
Theres no rational reason to be optimistic about this team but weird stuff happens in the tournament.
All it takes for Iowa to beat anyone is hitting a high enough percentage of their early shot clock 3s.
For me it runs deeper than that. People suggesting that this team can go on a run really don't understand how bad this team has looked for the most part on the road and how poor they are defensively. The odds of a tourney run are so slim that they aren't worthy of serious consideration.
Then you look at what's coming back next year and realize that the last 3 years were really the pinnacle of success under Fran. Without a really high quality transfer, next year will likely be brutal. With a high quality transfer they might look like this year's team. Fran dug the program out of the depths, but I think this has been as good as it gets.
Can't disagree but try and enjoy it knowing how bad it has been just recently.
I guess its because I don't spend all day, every day looking at the NET and Q-whatever Ws & Ls, and all the other metrics ........
But I still don't see Indiana as a 4-seed.
Most likely bias against the program, but I just don't look at them and see them as a team deserving to be seeded in such a way that they're an automatic Sweet16 team IF the bracket goes completely chalk, which admittedly it never has and never will.

They pass the eye test to me. Injured a lot of year too.

No rational reason…which is probably why this team will somehow make it to the 2nd weekend. Can’t imagine the reactions by the Fran white knights if that happens 😆
Not really a bid stealer--VCU won't get an at-large if they lose. A10 is maybe the worst it's ever been this year.
Just last year, UNC went to the title game as an 8 seed. It can be done, as bad as Iowa has played at times this year, if they are hitting their 3’s, they can beat anyone. Kansas just lost by 20, Houston hasn’t played anyone in months and Alabama hasn’t played great since their star player participated in a murder. There’s no great teams out there. All it takes is our bracket to have some upsets and it can all open up.
Alabama is beating the second best team in the conference by 25. The accomplice just had a monster slam..
They look unstoppable. Disgusting that murder accomplice continues with 0 ramifications, IMO.
Even though this just finishing week and the coming weekend next week are the best combined 11 days of every sports year (imho), my enjoyment lives and dies with my Hawkeyes.
All of last year's Championship Week was off the charts, excitement and enjoyment-wise, thanks to how the Hawks entered the week and then Iowa's run to the BTT championship. The NCAA Tournament? Was over rather quickly and in an extremely disappointing fashion.
This year's Championship Week was unofficially over by mid-afternoon Thursday. This year's NCAA Tourney? Yet to be decided.
Hoping for one of two things on when we find out both Iowa's pod location in about 2.5-3 hours, and then start times for first round games late tonight or tomorrow; Iowa is either the first game on Thursday morning or the last game on Friday night.
That way, if Iowa loses its first game (again), I can write off another Dance pretty much right off the bat or can at least enjoy the first couple days' worth of action and results before I won't give much of a s* anymore.

Which #1 seed to you want the Hawks to be paired with 2nd round? For some reason I keep thinking it’s Kansas. I haven’t watched them much this year, and I know they are super talented, but I just feel like that’s the one where there’s a chance.
