Someone explain why uhl is allowed to shoot past 8 ft? HORRIBLE form that u would think a coach would attempt to correct.
It's Iowa basketball, I always get a bad feeling when a "bad shooting" team can't miss...
After a great start, what a lackluster last 7-8 minutes of the half.

Fran the problem at the half is your not SMART enough to keep a scorer in the game at all times, you want to bench your best two players at the same time...ugh what a moron.
Defense was bad and when Jok and Uthoff aren't in together the offense is way to easy to defend because you just have to shut down one guy. Jok should play the entire second half.
Wow. Well we cruised to a double digit lead, had it at 12 kind of easily and then allowed a 13-0 run and are only up 1 at the half. I don't feel good about this. Damn I hope the team that raced out ahead is the one that comes out in the last 20 minutes.
Add to it they are guarding Jok and Uthoff much tighter. Put bodies on these two and they go into shell. Jok not quick enough, U
I would disagree with Fran in that the shot selection the entire half was garbage. A lot of one man dribbling down and shooting, or 1 pass and shot. There is not cutting to the offense and it takes 20 seconds to set up. These cold stretches are unbearable. Hope they can catch fire but don't see the hawks surviving past rd 2 even if they win today.
MSU down 8 in second half against Middle Tennessee. Purdue lost. Iowa lackluster. Big Ten is kinda lookin' like dogcrap so far.
Gesell, Clemmons and Woodbury have to step up in the second half. Do you want to end your career playing this bad? Need Woodbury to get some offensive rebounds and outplay Bond. Need Gesell and Clemmons to make shots and increase the intensity on D.
What a sour puss Fran is during the end of half interview. What a poor representative Fran is of the University of Iowa. I know that if I was a potential recruit I would sure want to come and play for that uninspired example of a coach.

I would surely appreciate some ball movement and motion in our offensive sets in the 2nd half.
Too many B1G homers. Some of these Middle Tenn and VCUs are a lot more athletic than B1G. Iowa has its hand's full with mediocre Temple.

I would appreciate some damn INTENSITY. When the devil are these kids gonna play like it matters? I would press the entire second half. Iowa should be fresh from either sitting or standing around most of the first half, so let's empty the tank for a change and see what happens when we play like, well, it's the damn NCAA tournament...
Well, outside of JU look at the other 3, unfortunately they are playing their typical games. Hell Woody and Mike cant get off the bench.
For those 3, the time to improve their game was past 4 years. I doubt we see these 3 step up. Meanwhile Uthoff/Jok being tightly guarded.
If you can slow down out only 2 guys who can score the rest of the team wilts under the pressure. If we cant find a third scorer in second half we will lose..
I hear you but Fran's going to play them the majority of the second half. They can still play better. I think Mikey and Clemmons are 1-6 in this game. They can be better then that. Wouldn't take much.
