Okla State at Iowa

I expect Spencer to be great, but his problem with Bresser wasn't that Bresser stayed away. The problem was Bresser never conceded anything in the neutral position and Spencer never figured out how to force the issue and get past Bresser's hands. Spencer took one half shot the entire match.

The Oklahoma State kid will well coached and prepared. If 90 seconds in and the score is 0 - 0 it is a toss up. If Spencer has a TD(s) 90 seconds in the only question is whether Spence gets bonus or not.
Or Spencer could just release Bresser in the third period, since he already had over a minute of riding time and win 2-1.

Yep... They have a wrestling forum... I believe it's called "34, and HOLDING".
Iowa got 3 in a row 2008 2009 2010
They got 4 in a row 2003 2004 2005 2006
Each have been 2nd twice since 2004
Who wins another 1 first?

Jacobe is Johns son also??

It's going to be while before anyone outside the B1G wins a title. And I mean a LONG while. OSU has some distinct advantages in location. By that I mean the tuition reciprocity, closeness to Texas where hs wrestling seems to be improving, and very little competition from neighboring States because there are no powerhouse programs close by.
But to answer your question... Iowa will win another title before the fightin cowboys.

Mitch got me all cornfused with his trolling.
Thinking about heading over to the Cowboy forum to see if I can put another notch in my "Ban Belt". In all seriousness... if the Hawks don't surrender more than nine points @ 133/141, .they should win the dual, imo.

I think Iowa wins 1 first also. If Iowa doesnt win this year it will be it's longest stretch without a Title since there 1st in 1975

Let’s see yours BigD. We can compare a week from now.
Okay okay... here goes. I actually like your team as lee and 165 are good young prospects not to mention we are in trouble at 157 with bonus going your way. Where you are drinking a little too much black and gold koolaide is your prediction of lee TF and winning 197. Pic is a top 5 kid with a win over defending champ and as much as I like Lee and hope he sees Ohio state kid in big ten finale, I see it as a decision either way. Our 197 is a stud on top and is difficult to score on. I like us in a decision. I also think we win at heavyweight as this kid is better than Schafer. I was at the dual in Stillwater last year and realize he tore his acl but I like our guy here. We bonus at 33 and 41. Don't think Downey wrestles at 184 (which means no bonus) and I think we pull out a win at 165 in a toss up. We need to win 174 and I think we will therefore pokes win in a close one.

Thanks for posting. I’m sure it will land some in between for our predictions. At 125 I was looking back at Picc’s results from last year and I was surprised he lost 2/3 against Russell.

Pretty sure Downey will be a go but we will see. No inside info, just reading the tea leaves. 165, 174 (Smith is a prime candidate to get Carvered) and 197 are the swing weights. HWT maybe too but I’m not buying it, Stoll is on a mission.

Yep. Things happen in streaks, it seems. Even with that Iowa has won 23 of the last 50, with the longest streak being 9. The next closest is Okie State won 9 of the last 50, with the longest streak in there being 4. Even with all the talk of the Penn State dynasty they've only won 6 of the last 50, the longest streak also being 4.

Easy there...
Not quite sure what you meant in your reply. I have observed Wilcke making rather quick work of jumping to his feet and getting out. His starts on bottom really do remind me of Keddy, who was a joy to watch explode immediately after the whistle.

Wilcke has gotten better in this area. That being said, Keddy was an absolute Jack-in-the-Box from bottom. Not comparable at this point...

Here is EXACTLY how it will play out...

125: Lee Maj. Piccininni 4-0 Iowa
133: Brock Tech Glynn 5-4 Okie St
141: Heil Maj. Happel 9-4 Okie St
149: Sorenson Dec. Lewallen 9-7 Okie St
157: Kemerer Tech Blaylock 12-9 Iowa
165: Marinelli Dec Rogers 15-9 Iowa
174: Smith Dec. Gunther 15-12 Iowa
Wouldn’t surprise me to see Gunther win by decision either
184: Bowman / Downey Dec. Moore 18-12 Iowa
Even if Downey goes I’d suspect a decision. Need to see his conditioning before I add bonus points
197: Weigel Dec. Wilcke 18-15 Iowa
Hwt: Stoll Dec. White 21-15 Iowa

Crazy that 4 teams have won the majority of the titles over the last 50 years 4 teams with 44 titles
Iowa 23
Ok St 9
Iowa st 6
Penn st 6
The remaining 6 titles
Mn 3
Asu 1
Ok 1
Ohio st 1

I think @WWDMHawkeye needs to do a Facebook Live event so I can watch and hear. So many matches can go so many ways, it should be fun.
You need to join us in Carver, Cowboy! Probably a little late to do it this time, but next time for sure. GG and I could put together a f*** visit for you -- show you around, get you some Wig & Pen pizza, get you a Carver cone, and show you some great wrestling. Seriously -- let me know if you want to come to Carver for the Pokes and the Hawks, and we'll take care of you.

While he has improved a great deal I'm not comparing him to the greatest to ever do it quite yet...

Well, I'll submit to your wise observations. I didn't know that Keddy would be considered the "greatest to ever do it," but I could easily concede that. I just remember those explosive escapes (and the accompanying look of shock on the poor rider who couldn't believe what had just happened!). I think I've seen Wilcke mimic the "greatest" on two occasions. When he did it, I rubbed my eyes and said, "Wait...is that you, Philip?"

Someday I will come back-haven't been there since I believe 1986 for nationals. Sure it has changed some. Will help host prematch social for all with HR and 34 nametags on that date-except for @el dub , 'cause he is too interested in my boots

yeah, just having some fun. Frankly, I hate chicken once it has hatched.

Plus, it's kind of tough to take a shot with both arms locked up so the guy can push you out to get stalling calls. You know, like "Iowa Style"? One of those things, like chickens-what comes first, and which deserves the stalling call? I have been to a lot of matches where I would have warned both at the same time if I was still refereeing. Schafer-Stoll 3rd period just one example. Very much prefer a different style of wrestling.

If you aren't capable of shooting with both arms tied up, you shouldn't let someone tie both your arms up. Jus' sayin'...
