LOL. Ben has talked about Peterson's dad - he thought they didn't go "hard enough" the first time he went to Askren's.
That’s funny, never thought I’d see the day we have a chance with an Askren kid.
Same, but Peterson dad is a hard azz. So probably has more to do with that.
Look at Askren's video message to Gable Steveson. Ben's first clue should have been when Gable didn't message him back to begin with.
Ben goes on to talk about how it's not fun being famous. Having to sign autographs is annoying.. having to take pictures with people in public.. Being less famous is better.. Yada yada yada
Gable would get a fat check to be a RTC athlete, and he can still go down as the GOAT of American wrestling he’s that young. I don’t get why he keeps trying different avenues.

Does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that money and fame are just vanity. The rich and famous are some of the most miserable and unfulfilled people on the planet.
I’d take that challenge.

Not to try and get too deep for a wrestling forum but the pursuit and acquisition of money to the neglect of relationships (family, friends, neighbors, etc) and personal interests (Bible study, hobbies, giving back to the community) has left significantly more people unfulfilled than fulfilled. And the pursuit of money almost always results in the neglect of relationships and personal interests. I have yet to talk to an elderly person that has told me that they wish they had spent more time at work, more time away from their family, and more time accumulating money. It is always the opposite.
i would rather be rich than famous' i'll deal with the happy in my own way as always have.
PLEASE help me to understand!?!?!? According to many, some of these kids are racking in HUGE sums of $$$$$$. A lot of people are throwing around the 1/2 MIL figure for some of the NEW HAWKS?????
I for one certainly do not believe these numbers, REGARDLESS, IF there is ANY LARGE amounts of $$$$ available to be thrown at kids???? WHY would we not be getting more of the TOP tier HS studs???

BUT, IOWA STILL does not seem, to be making the strides necessary to not only close the GAP, but to TAKE F_IN BACK OVER!!!!!
Looking at a recent U20 world team where BIG Ben was going(or whatever team it was?) The Nity Kity had FIVE of TEN members!!!! I mean it is just F_IN stupid now!!!!! We have ONE BIG name coming in the next class, we had ONE in the last class, WHEN do we make some MOVES!?!?!?
BLAZE, BO, some others mentioned above, IF there is CASH, TnT need to make some BIG noise and start landing some kids that will DOMINATE, and I am LOST as to the WHY, it isn't happening????? I like TnT/support TnT as much as anyone, but in todays world, all this NEW NIL BS. They have TWOOOOOO earn their keep.
IF it requires making some COACHING moves? Then sad to say, get it done!!! IF I had a COOL MIL slush money and I am an IOWA coach. I would say, "wait here TOM, I will be back in a few days with our NEW HAMMERS!!!"
I would be at the kids houses with a CHECK BOOK, and a note book FULL of ALL the $$$$ ON TOP of the MONEY I just gave them that they could be making at IOWA!!! and I am just NOT seein g it!?!?!?
T-shirt sales, clinics, posters, autographs, camps etc...... EVERYTHING seems to be in place NO????? Just on here for example, Hey everyone, IRONSIDE here. Like to sell few hundred of our newest recruit BLAZE shirts. Would that be TUFF!?!?! Hey BO is going to do a clinic with SPENCER LEE $100 a pop, includes 1/2 day of technique, and a T-shirt. Extra shirts, posters available, held in HAWKEYE arena parents are welcome to stay, food and drinks will be sold.......

I’m as anti-brands as it gets, but there’s no need to dig into the weeds on this. Until we win individual titles at NCAAs and show that the RTC is actually a thing - we’re not getting those recruits.
New season is here. We have a lineup that can win a title. It needs to happen. And that’s what recruits are waiting for too.
I don’t get the reluctance from TnT to invest in the RTC. Having Spencer is amazing but we need more than just him. Would be amazing to buy seabass, Gable, hell even Takuto would be a game changer.
Some may argue investing in a proven commodity is smarter than investing in an unproven high school kid. With that said, I believe there are moves being made to lock up studs with multiple years of eligibility to go along with filling holes with 1 year guys.

Simply means the facility is done. All focus can be on recruiting H.S. studs to go with the portal and graduate transfer studs.

Munaretto, Mocco, and Ross were all on an Official visit at Ohio State this weekend. Hopefully they are taking an Official to Iowa soon.
