Watching Johnny Carson Show many years ago - Guest Roy Clark is playing furiously when he gets a funny look on his face then smiles while playing. Band gives him a standing ovation as he goes over to sit by Johnny. Turns out he broke a string in the middle of the song and had to improvise his picking in the middle of the performance to compensate. That is a guitarist.
One of the highlights of Roy Clark's career was when
he sang a solo at Mickey Mantle's funeral in 1995.
He sang "Yesterday, When I Was Young". which had
been requested by Mickey.
I gotta be honest here, I thought he had died years ago. He was a talented and popular guy. And I think he would have wanted us to make this a Hee Haw Honeys thread in his memory.
