I assumed he had those numbers backwards or some sort of typo 🤷🏻♂️If he’s 265 for wrestling, then he is at least 275 during football.
Not sure that is what the FB coaches would want.

Ah, an actual theory. Thanks.PSU donors gifted Northern Colorado and Nickerson a very large one time payment sum of money last year to their program so they could do some upgrades to their facility and have the $ to keep Alirez. This is a fact.
Zero theory. A fact.Ah, an actual theory. Thanks.
Facts are verifiable. Is there verification?Zero theory. A fact.
Honest question. Why so defensive?Ah, an actual theory. Thanks.
Yes but I don’t have any paperwork to submit.Facts are verifiable. Is there verification?
Fair enough.Yes but I don’t have any paperwork to submit.
You forgot Cleveland State and Campbell. Also, this is kind of a weird ask coming from you as I’m sure should both Nasir Bailey and Jordan Williams would get a shot to wrestle for a spot in your line up if they expressed interest in coming to Iowa. Are you able to legally drive? If so, how do so you do with your head up your ass?
If you have Caels guys numbers, please send them a text and have them save Little Rock.
Well one would assume he still wanted to wrestle.Fair enough.
I admit it is creative. But why pay him to stay at UNCO when you can pay him to come to PSU, and presumably for less than a facility upgrade plus NIL? It isn't like PSU has a problem stock piling.
No one is talking about doing what's good for other teams, we're talking good for the sport and good for the athletes. Clearly you either don't understand the difference or can't grasp the point. He is not good for Iowa and okie st but he is good for happy valley. Make sure to let everyone know when an opposing coach is good for another team.
Of course. But I have to believe he believed he could beat the statue thst is Beau Bartlett.Well one would assume he still wanted to wrestle.
Including killing interest and growth in college wrestling. Congrats.Has Cael being a cutthroat killer worked out for PSU? Yes
The guy is winning and winning big, He’s a killer that is willing to kill for what he wants.

Careful, you are starting to lose that perception of non-PSU bias that you have done a good job propagating here…Of course. But I have to believe he believed he could beat the statue thst is Beau Bartlett.
Fair enough.

Wouldn’t take much digging from any halfway tuned in PSU fan to know everything I’ve said in the last couple days are facts.Gobblin is wrong somewhere between 50 and 83% of the time...yet some hang onto hope of his every word😆
How did college wrestling survive thru the 80s and 90s is crazy and now that the dynasty has moved on it is killing the sport.Including killing interest and growth in college wrestling. Congrats.
As I posted earlier, Gable wasn't poaching from other teams and recruiting over top 10 guys and returning AAs every year. He developed his roster year over year like no one ever has. Good for psu on this run, it's impressive. But there's right and wrong in everything. How did college wrestling survive thru the 80s and 90s is crazy and now that the dynasty has moved on it is killing the sport.
NIL is killing the ncaa not the sport. You are putting your blame in the wrong place. That is fine as long as you can actually see the real truth.
This dynasty stuff has been going on since the beginning, (34 and counting, 24and counting 12 and counting) kids go were kids want to go, which just so happens to be where the dynasty is.
If OKIE ST can come back around so can we, with this piss poor attitude of blame game it's not gonna happen.
But the Yankees haven't won a World Series since 2009.I agree...It is like watching the New York Yankees spend hundred of millions on a team of superstar free agents and then watch the rest of the teams try to beat them and the fans have to sit back and hope they stumble ... sadly these small schools that are having their best wrestlers snatched up by the Big schools will eventually drop the sport .
Because we actually have a slot for them in the lineup whereas PSU would not have a spot for Alirez, Walsh, Facundo, Ryder, B. Davis etc….You forgot Cleveland State and Campbell. Also, this is kind of a weird ask coming from you as I’m sure should both Nasir Bailey and Jordan Williams would get a shot to wrestle for a spot in your line up if they expressed interest in coming to Iowa.
So what; they can only wrestle 10 weights. We need to ensure that we walk in with 19 weights ready to AA. Period. So Barr is staying at 97.
Too bad for Mirasola, Ryder, Cunningham, and Cochran and Henckel. And now Levi will have to stop growing because he's stuck at 74.
With Ono, too bad for B. Davis, Nagao, Desmond (125 recruit), Dalton Perry (141 recruit), Jayden James (150 recruit) and Sam Herring (138 recruit). Ono/Blaze will hold down 133/141 (or 141/149) for a few years and Lilledahl will likely grow to 133.
And then Kasak, Sealey, Duke, Cunningham, Haines and Messenbrink can all fight over 157/165/174
When you have 10 AAs and then buy a national runner-up and Japanese world champ, the sport no longer becomes enjoyable for fans.
Coaching is somewhat irrelevant now, and so is nationals. When Ono or Welsh win it, can you say it wasn't expected or that PSU coaching gets credit. Not me.
Yea, that is why they did it. To help the sport. That can’t be! Helping a small program improve facilities!? A definite way to kill the sport! How dare he!
FIFYWouldn’t take much digging from me to know everything I’ve said in the last couple days are only emotional outburts!
I'd see your point if all those dudes didn't come back scorched earth after losing. What they did on the backside may not get the same accolades, but it was impressive as hell IMO.So what; they can only wrestle 10 weights. We need to ensure that we walk in with 19 weights ready to AA. Period.
They are vulnerable. There’s blood in the water as everyone can see with the blood round performance. Time to start gaining ground.
Be better. Nickel wasn't beating Matt Brown(champ), Nevils wasn't beating Lawson(aa). Nico was shirting no matter what the coaches said, and Zain was good with what ever. Nolf wanted to shirt.... Carl didn't have much say. You're assuming that Rocco is heads and shoulders better than Kharchla. I don't know that he is...at least enough to bench a former AA. Yea I get that Rocco was a finalist but the sky opened up for him in a weak bracket and he beat: Murphy(Campbell), Ruth (Illinois), and Wolak (Columbia) all in OT. 174 got a shit ton tougher this year. Tan Tom did him a favor because his $’ask is way lower if he wrestled this year at 174.
And I was referring to Cael gray shirting, red shirting guys that are really good. But I remember him sitting Nico and Zain plus the N Cubed freshman in 2015 to load up for a run.
Now tell me what is wrong with it. Why is it worse to pay someone to stay than it is to pay them to leave?
You’re being purposely obtuse. Now tell me what is wrong with it. Why is it worse to pay someone to stay than it is to pay them to leave?
You’re being purposely obtuse.
If this is true, and @Gobblin sure as fvck seems to be standing on business, it’s a bastardization of “paying someone to stay”
Another school paying an athlete/program for the purpose of keeping that athlete from going to a rival? That’s pretty low, dirty and antithetical to how team sports works.
I find the whole "my team is virtuous, your team is morally bankrupt" claims to be silly. You’re being purposely obtuse.

Are you being careful about what you’re wishing for? I thought you guys wanted Bailey? Are you able to legally drive? If so, how do you do so with your head up your ass?

Facts are facts. If they hurt your feelings, feel free to go awayI find the whole "my team is virtuous, your team is morally bankrupt" claims to be silly.
So “good for the sport” and “good for the athlete” is what you’re stressing, arguing that the Penn State program is good for neither. Two observations: (1) Good for the Sport: Where were the Iowa fans concerns when Iowa was mopping the floor with all the other programs during Gable’s tenure? I guess dynasties are okay as long as they’re your dynasty. Apparently dynasties by other schools do great damage to the sport. (2) Good for the Athletes: If a wrestler wants to develop into the best wrestler possible, how better to do it than in the room where the competition is the keenest? Iron sharpens iron, as they say. If the wrestler’s sole focus is to get on a college mat as soon as possible, the Penn State room is probably the wrong place for him. And today, given the ease with which a wrestler can move to another school, even outside the portal windows, a wrestler who feels he is no longer in a room that is best for him has options. No one is talking about doing what's good for other teams, we're talking good for the sport and good for the athletes. Clearly you either don't understand the difference or can't grasp the point.
And it was 10 years ago. I knew someone would be quick to go there.Be better. Nickel wasn't beating Matt Brown(champ), Nevils wasn't beating Lawson(aa). Nico was shirting no matter what the coaches said, and Zain was good with what ever. Nolf wanted to shirt.... Carl didn't have much say.
Does the why matter? Helping a small school with facilities helps that program. If Iowa is so vulnerable (and paranoid) that helping a small program is construed as a threat to them, maybe some self-reflection is neededYea, that is why they did it. To help the sport.![]()
