if conference realignment raises its ugly head again?

I think Iowa State should join the MVC if invited. I'm not sure they would want them either.

Actually there are a few viable candidates but timing has been off for some.
Oklahoma
Missouri
Texas

I know they seem like odd situations but I could see it happening if mega conferences unfold.
I don't know how much you know about the BIG but just about any school in the country would stand a better chance of being invited to join. ISU would add nothing to the Big or the BTN. I'm the biggest Iowa fan alive but if we weren't already BIG members there is no chance we would have been invited. Things and the stars were aligned perfect for Neb. to get an invite.

Yes. Donald Trump will put up the money. The only thing more ridiculous than he is.
Seriously, what is up with you making multiple political posts on the football board? Would love to see your views on Greg Davis on the MSNBC comment section for Al Sharpton's show.

ISU has no chance of getting invited to join the B1G Conference and Iowa is damn lucky they are a current member. Iowa also would have no chance if they were on the outside looking in. The Big Ten Conference/Network is all about money which currently equates to state population or athletic teams having a great sports history.

I remember couple years ago with the start of the realignment with Mizzou, A & M, Colorado, Nebraska leaving with all the rumors of the Big 12 losing all of its member to form the "super conferences". ISU was the one team not linked to any of the 4 team 16 conferences and the big concern is if it happened would they land in the Mountain West or MAC. As much as I didn't care to see them form 4 big conferences would have been amusing to see the clones on the outside looking in.

I'm sure there is about least a dozen schools the Big 10 would consider over ISU if not more.

Iowa State has a lot of positives to offer the BIG (geography - natural rivals w/Neb, Minny, Iowa, Wisky, and Illinois -competitive in everything except football -and has strong academics), but will never be invited because of $$$. It's too bad (especially for ISU) because the BIG is a better conference fit than the BIG 12. The old Big 8 was a great conference for ISU, and I wish they never would have let the Texas schools in, but $$$$ talks.

Yep

I would have no issues with ISU in the Big 10. From a geography standpoint alone it would make sense. Of course, ISU is not a splashy addition, but the university itself would align well with the rest of the conference. Will it happen. No.

Do you favor Trump or Cruz? Trump is an idiot and Cruz is just plain stupid. Davis is not a problem; nor is Sharton Folks like you are? Let us ban automatic weapons, and Iowa footbal wil sore. Early morning here in Asia. Enjoy church tomorrow.

If super conferences become a reality KSU and ISU will be out of big boy football. Best guess is membership in MWC/MAC or perhaps 1AA membership. The problem for both schools is their irrelevance and lack of money-generating ability.

If we don't start playing better ball the big 10 will probably wanna get rid of the iowa team they already have

Really don't like either of them, just wish you would keep the politics on the off-topic board and not the football board. Vote in every national election, did not vote for a Repub or Dem in last presidential election, but voted.

Should Iowa St. join the B1G?
I hope so. That would for sure dissolve the pseudo rivalry Iowa pushes on the Huskers.

If the Iowa/Neb rivalry is a "pseudo" one...who are Nebraska's current "rivals"? Penn State? Still Colorado and Oklahoma?

Kind of like the pseudo rivalry UNL had with OU. OU dominated that series. At least ISU would bring some academic integrity.

I think the chances of ISU losing its football program, are FAR greater than ever doing the unspeakable you have mentioned...

Actually OU only leads the all-time series 45-38-3. On the other hand, Nebraska leads Iowa 29-13-3. As one can clearly see Nebraska is far more dominate of Iowa than Oklahoma is of Nebraska. And to be clear, I don't really care just wanted to answer the ridiculous post above about OU's dominance of the Nebraska series.

I think ISU should join the SEC. Maybe just start showing up on Saturdays in the fall. Before you know it, Vanderbilt can't live without playing somebody who is not only stupider than they are, but also much worse. Then the SEC can eliminate the FCS game, and play a power five team that lays down quicker than a Detroit prostitute.

When is ISU going to go ahead and do this? Assuming they don't just decide to join the B1G or Pac 12. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Wait, I've got it. ISU, KSU, and KU can just form their own super conference! It's fool proof.
