Teske committs to PSU

Any talk about flipping a current PSU commit is wishful thinking at best, IMHO. Would love for it to be true though.

I wanted him to go to ISU. Just the thought of him at PSU makes me vomit.

My thoughts exactly, they spent a lot of time with him, and if they can’t get him to pull that trigger they have a lot of work to do.

This is me also... I'm just trying to look at the positive side of things.

Dang it Gobblin, here you got me all excited that we still had a good chance of getting a premier 133er (maybe even get one to flip from F$$$ State) and now it is just a hope that probably won't come to fruition? Oh well. Let's get Hidlay and keep working on that lightweight.

money talks

That did seem to be Teske's only motive. Why else would anyone go to PSU, right? I'm sure since Teske is just a kid, he didn't really mean what he said, as in....

“I really bought into the Penn State way of life when I made my official visit there (last month),” said Teske, who has a career record of 135-0 as FDSH’s first-ever three-time champ. “The way they handle things on and off the mat – that’s the way I envision myself. I want to be a part of it.

“Coach Sanderson has done everything there is to do in the sport, but he’s still so humble and down to earth. That really struck a chord with me. I think Penn State will turn me into a great wrestler, but an even better person. I want that balance, and that’s the vibe I got from (the program) and from Coach Sanderson especially.”

And how bout:
“When I made my official visit (on Sept. 1), we flew out there, and that’s when it really started to seem like home. It just felt right. I remember working out by myself at the hotel room, running on a treadmill and looking out a big window overseeing downtown State College. My mind was racing. Then it hit me and it all got clear: this is what I want.”

“It’s funny: you’re sitting across from Cael Sanderson, but you’d never guess it by the way he talks or treats people,” said Teske, who is projected to be a 125-pounder at PSU. “I mean, he’s accomplished the kind of stuff (wrestlers) could only dream of. But he doesn’t act like or expect to be treated like a star or a celebrity. He’s unassuming, which really connects with me.

“My dad (Danny, a former Dodger standout) and I just kept looking at each other during our breakfast and smiling. It was kind of a surreal feeling at first, but he makes you feel welcome pretty quick. I’m really excited to get out there and go to work.”

Kind of sounds like how Spencer Lee felt about Iowa....but can't be, gotta be the money. Jammen wouldn't say it otherwise and put a kid and his family down like that.

Same thoughts from me. Right in your back yard and he's been training there in the last year. Absolutely believe he had to have a full ride offer from Dressir. At a need weight for them.
This one has to really hurt the perceived momentum they are trying to build in Ames. That job is a way bigger rebuild than some ISU fans probably want to admit. Too bad!

You have a weird unhealthy obsession with ISU

PSU board has him even with Lee already with his high ceiling and how good their room will make him.
I agree with other PSU fans, that stmt. is silly. Spencer Lee, as I said earlier, has a chance to be one of the all-timers, and I wish he is the best he can be- as I do for all that put in so much effort. My only other wish is tha there were many, many others, who put in the same effort.

Disappointed the kid didnt stay home with Brett and the staff at ISU. But best of luck to him.

Depth is great, but for most schools that comes at a cost, and when you're juggling 9.9 scholarships, you better spend wisely or have a backdoor plan.

Some kids take the chance to live the dream at their preferred school of choice, regardless of cost. Then some of those same kids see it ain't working liked they had hoped. And some of those kids just want to see the field, court, mat, wherever they can. That's where the Coe's and the Wartburg's and the Morningside's come into play. Nothing wrong with that, gotta do whatever makes you happy in the long run.

From the sounds of it, young Mr.Teske felt he didn't have much choice or a fitting overall outcome at Plan A, so you figure out the next best thing, which to him was the place formerly known as Joe Pa U. apparently.

I do find the commentary in the article a bit comical, but to each his own. He's not the first to find no room at The Inn, and he won't be the last.

Front row behind the pit night 2. Intercepted the baseball Ed was trying to throw to his wife at the end.

Very cool. I was to the right of you that night. I took my 65 yo father & he was absolutely blown away at the experience. He now understands why I have seen them over 20 times!

Back to wrestling....

PSU board? Dude, that was Spyker. PSU could recruit Gary Coleman and Spyker would have him hanging with Spencer.

Well he almost lost him once when he went hard after Teasdale to stick it to Iowa. So not sure that theory holds much water.
Was unaware of that....do tell. Honestly haven't heard that RBY ever had any second thoughts. I'm certainly not Cael and he may disagree but I'd take RBY over Teasdale or Teske. I'd do what I'd need to do to keep him even if it meant losing one of the others.

You don't waste your 12:01 visit on a sure thing.

What makes any of you so sure RBY was a sure thing even before Teasdale flipped? RBY gave a verbal...means nothing... he lives on the other side of the country where thoughts of going so far away from home may creep in. He's also a hot prospect that ASU and every other school out there was trying to get him to flip. If Cael thinks of him the same way I do then he'd have been my first visit as well.

I always thought RBY was a better prospect than Teasdale. It wasn't just lip service because Teasdale committed to Iowa. PSU may get both now... I still like RBY better.

Biggest shock to me about RBY and Teasdale who are there training partners other then them two? The Hawk and Okie st room seem to have more partners.
