And that is 2 games old - Caitlin's stats have actually improved since then! This is freaking awesome.
Stats on left are from Swopes' MVP season.
Stats on right are Clark's current stats from her rookie year.
No wonder Cheryl's ass is chapped - Caitlin ALREADY as good, if not better, than the best Cheryl ever was.
lolz. Guy must be a sad and lonely little man to push this hot take so far.Yeah which had NOTHING to do with improving physicality.
Geno was full of shit and so are you.
And with that, I will no longer engage in this debate with you as you are the metaphorical inchoate inebriate at the end of the bar arguing for the sake of arguing and nothing more.
In those first 12 games that you so desperately care about, she averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 reb and 6.6 asts per game. Reaching those numbes over an entire season has only happened once (Candace Parker, 2015)First 12 games

Don’t you understand, Bro? There just wasn’t enough time to put her on the team.In those first 12 games that you so desperately care about, she averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 reb and 6.6 asts per game. Reaching those numbes over an entire season has only happened once (Candace Parker, 2015)
Yea, its not like rookie #1 picks haven't been on the team before! oh waitDon’t you understand, Bro? There just wasn’t enough time to put her on the team.
What I hate about basketball shooting stats is that they never show effective shooting percentage which is all that matters in terms of shooting efficiency. She's more than 10 points higher than Angel Reece. And that is 2 games old - Caitlin's stats have actually improved since then!

It is puzzling. I normally don't like to bring race into things, but I think her problems with Caitlin are race-based. She did not appreciate just how good Caitlin is, and she did not anticipate the extreme and unprecedented volume of passionate Clark fans who would take her to task on that. As a result, she has continued to paint herself into a corner, and since the internet is forever and Caitlin's career is just getting going, that paint is not going to dry for her to gracefully exit from this.I honestly don’t know what’s going on in Sheryl’s head. She just can’t seem to get out of her own way. Even her private apology to Caitlin that she weirdly posted online was lame as hell.
“COVID year has me all confused.”
Da fuq? I can see where COVID year might have had her confused about how much eligibility Clark had left. But COVID year didn’t trick her into thinking Clark was in her fifth season. And COVID year didn’t trick her into thinking Clark was 25 years old. And COVID year sure as hell didn’t trick her into thinking Clark takes 40 shots per game.

It’s a tough for some of the old guard to acknowledge that 98% of current WNBA fans didn’t give a shit about the league until this year. Nobody cares about what Swoopes or Taurusi did. They are nobodies to the general public while Clark (and others to much a lesser extent) are getting lots of love and money. It is puzzling. Okay, but why suck off Angel Reece who is also getting a lot of love and publicity? It’s a tough for some of the old guard to acknowledge that 98% of current WNBA fans didn’t give a shit about the league until this year. They’re just angry and bitter, I think.
Because she's the only challenger to the big stage Clark is enjoying. Like others have said, she's painted herself into a corner, much like Joe's Place, and now they are stuck defending an indefensible position.Okay, but why suck off Angel Reece who is also getting a lot of love and publicity?
I think it goes deeper with Swoops.Because she's the only challenger to the big stage Clark is enjoying. Like others have said, she's painted herself into a corner, much like Joe's Place, and now they are stuck defending an indefensible position.
It probably started with CC breaking her NCAA tournament record. Old hag has been bitter ever sinceI think it goes deeper with Swoops.
Yes; there are some they are not ready for, or they miss bunny shots, costing her assists.I haven’t watched a ton, but I’d bet her great passes that her teammates flub outnumber her truly bad passes.
YikesSaw this on the Twitters this morning.

And she had LOTS of turnovers to go with a mediocre shooting percentage during those games. In those first 12 games that you so desperately care about, she averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 reb and 6.6 asts per game. Reaching those numbes over an entire season has only happened once (Candace Parker, 2015)
Don’t you understand, Bro? There just wasn’t enough time to put her on the team.
And if you look at that stat for her early games, it's not "stellar"... her eFG% is very erratic into mid June. What I hate about basketball shooting stats is that they never show effective shooting percentage which is all that matters in terms of shooting efficiency. She's more than 10 points higher than Angel Reece.
I wonder how much that would have been different if NIL was allowed when they played. Clark came along at the right time with an insane skillset + NIL which put her everywhere. NIL expanded her following, put eyes on her at Iowa, which followed her to the WNBA. I wonder if people would be following her as much without NIL, but we'll never know. It’s a tough for some of the old guard to acknowledge that 98% of current WNBA fans didn’t give a shit about the league until this year. I think this is in part of the NIL like my post above. She had a really solid college career with some great NIL opportunities. This helped build up her following.Okay, but why suck off Angel Reece who is also getting a lot of love and publicity?
Like others have said, she's painted herself into a corner, much like Joe's Place, and now they are stuck defending an indefensible position.
Here ya go Joe:Clark starts slowly and dips well below mid-season; finishing well above.
Yes. She’s just like others.Yes; there are some they are not ready for, or they miss bunny shots, costing her assists.
There are others that are just poor decisions by her and a few that are bad luck/good defense.
Same issues other players deal with.
So, your position is no other player deals with teammates that miss shots on assists?Yes. She’s just like others.
No shit...🤣Clark starts slowly and dips well below mid-season; finishing well above.
Here ya go Joe:

Your hypocrisy knows no bounds Joe, as you only focus on less than 3 statsYou folks keep focusing on your 2 or 3 stats you like
It is a higher level of play and she’s doing even better. Die on the ****ing hill already and log off.Too bad that Clark wasn't playing for MVP honors in 2002
Cuz 2024 is a bit higher level of play...
But her numbers are light years ahead of other rookies.

If your on that racist Swoopes side, you are a disgrace. If you are just being obstinate, that’s less of an offense. She's not at League MVP level yet.
It's ok to be objective and acknowledge these things. And realize that she's made adjustments to her game over the course of one season that put her on par w/ other rookie greats. It doesn't make you a bad person to recognize she did not play "great" games early on; it makes you a realist.
