This is exactly why the Iowa offense struggles to score points. They can never get big chunk plays. Everything is dink and dunk. It makes your offense have to be nearly perfect. It allows the opposing defense to do exactly what Iowa’s defense tries to do to other offenses—make them earn it little by little until they make a mistake.

You have to be willing and able to stretch the field once in a while or your offense is going to be impotent. Kirk refuses to allow anything that is “too sexy,” so you get the offense you get.

Again, we play offense the way Phil Parker wants to coach against. Kirk is too stupid to understand that.

I mean it's rare to see a quarterback tackled by a thought, yet here we are, and for god sakes watching our offenses is like watching your mother-in-law bang your best friend. Don't let me be remiss to say, first of all, throw a pitch to Caleb to the right at least six or seven times a game. But what the hell do I know? I can only remember the plays that actually produced yards for us and points. Second, I'd be remiss if I didn't say that our offense really just absolutely sucks and there is no change at all and it's pretty goddamn lazy.
