Twitter is a mess right now...

I can't imagine why Twitter is a mess when we have such leadership in this country.
You don't spend enough time on Black Twitter. There's not a hard "r" to be found.
I think they're making a mistake if they let people use the word freely as a way to cause trouble. To ruin discussions. Trolls, basically. That's what I assumed they wouldn't do, just because internet communities don't fare well when you do that. I figured that's where most of the juice would be where n-bomb usage was concerned.
Somebody like Kanye, I think, is less of a problem. Genuinely stupid beliefs, for the most part, I don't think should be censored.
It'll be interesting to see where things are at when the dust settles a bit.
I don't think it matters in the long run. I think Twitter is just as destined for failure as Facebook. Kids and young people don't use either and I doubt that they'll pick Twitter up because Musk makes it more toxic.
She got banned for a tweet that said there were an extremely high amount of deaths due to the covid vaccine. Which is wildly false.

I tried to be one of those. But their stupid algorithms keep shoving the stuff in my face. There's people popping up I've never heard of just because I supported an actor who likes and interacts with them. I never knew that following Mark Hamill would cause tons of others to suddenly show up on my feed that had nothing to do with DC or Star Wars. That part is frustrating. I wish they'd kill the algorithms. Show me the stuff by the people I follow and nothing else.

Would not surprise me at all if China and Russia assisted with this purchase…they have a lot to gain. And with this news and the news that russian unblocked it, makes a lot of sense.
Something definitely changed within the algorithm already because I’m getting a bunch of conservative whack jobs on my feed because they’re followed by some people I follow (I.e. Jordan Bohannon loves him some conservatives).

That’s exactly what I noticed last night when I went and deleted the app. Full of that stuff and all was “suggested” based on connections like that.
Lesson I guess is to remove the conservatives from our bubbles? I actually think that’s about the only way our country moves forward if these sites enable you to filter out those viewpoints you don’t want to associate with. Like it used to be you might be ok with neighbor Bob, then you saw his Facebook posts and realized what a nut he was and decided to steer clear…

Yeah, I don't think any of these social media sites have any great permanence. This stuff all exploded for the first time in the 2010s. I hate any of it as a long term investment.
Unless Elon really fixes some of the underlying algorithms I don't anything changes much anyway.... and with little to no moderation for purposes of free-speech purism, it'll turn into a cesspool. (I assume he's not that dumb, we'll see)
It’s not about dumb with him it’s about ego. He’s worse than any teenage influencer thirsty for internet cred. He’ll do or say anything if it keeps people talking about him. And in this age outrage sells.
I think I started getting far more MAGAs on my feed about a month ago. I don’t know how many times I’ve clicked on see less of Ted Cruz tweets.
To be fair I was like 24 when he first got into college lol.

I suspect it has more to do with Elons ownership of Tesla (and their advertising supporting that downstream) than politics. But second level analysis isn’t exactly your thing after all so not surprised you failed to make that connection.
What I know is that Twitter won’t be formally delisted from the NYSE until November 8. What I don’t know is what changes Musk is allowed to make between now and November 8.
I was trying to provide useful information without being an asshole - two things you clearly aren’t concerned with.
I wasn’t seeing them for a reason. I don’t want Trump’s ass sniffers showing up to claim the 2020 election was stolen all over my timeline. They were rightly kicked to the curb.
But whatever, something else will eventually come and take Twitter’s place.
I think Twitter will be more successful than ever. But we will see.

Not NC. You’ll see full well Nov 9th that there are far more conservatives than you know. I’m voting straight ticket R. Iowa will be red for the win. All House races, Senate and Governor.
I have not had a fake hot woman account follow me in 24 hours. It may truly be the end of Twitter.
