Don't forget all of the missed three pointers yesterday for a 16.7% percentage, and really a dismal percentage most games. Honestly, if France could have hit the broadside of a barn in any part of the game other than the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter, it would have been very ugly for the USA. When they got up 10 in the 3rd, they should have been up 20. And that missed foul while they were up 8 and Wilson blocked a shot, but also got the France girl's face in the process killed them as USA came right down and Plum nailed a 3. Should have been France at the line with a chance to extend the lead to 10 and instead a few seconds later it was down to a 5 point lead that was then a 2 or 3 point lead on the next possession.
Caitlin will have her own way of handling the whole affair without ever saying a word about it.
This, I don't understand how they miss so many layups.
It's like they are not looking where they are placing the ball.
Just throw it up and hope it goes in.
I do think the lack of relative athleticism makes it a harder shot and also they tend to freak out and rush a bit at times.
layups are such a fundamental part of the game that missing so many is a sign of bad coaching
Probably partly coaching but it is mostly athleticism. The guys simply jump a lot higher and have more time to recover after contact, or adjust a shot midflight, after leaving their feet.
I actually have noticed over time that womens teams have better fundamentals and I certainly do not see what you claim

Wow you are quite the dickhead. Are you so stupid to not understand that physical ability in no small part dictates an ability to finish at the rim, regardless of coaching? It is physics. The longer you are in the air the more time you have to make adjustments, and the taller you are the closer to the rim you are to the rim to finish. How would you coach someone up to add 15 inches to their vertical and grow 6 inches?

IF the athleticism matters so much why are the shooting percentages and everything else involved there very simlilar in both the NBA and WNBA?

I will say that Caitlin has dampened my appetite for football to start like never before. I love football, the hawks, and hawks in the NFL, but I am thoroughly entertained by Caitlin and the fever.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Taurasi is done after this year. She knows Caitlin’s better than her and is going to break all the records that matter anyway. She just wanted to get her 6th medal with Caitlin not on the team to make sure Caitlin can never get that one.
