USA Today: Caitlin will not be selected for Olympic Women's Basketball Team

Perhaps you should contact Jan and encourage her to get a HS Freshmen boys team to to serve as practice players instead of male college students. Bet you’re in that group that thought Bohannan would have smoked Clark.
A good freshman travel team would be very competitive with them. A high school team would run them out of the gym. Just like we saw with the Olympic women’s soccer team.

Wow, USA guards sure set a high bar today. Gray & Taurasi start and have zero points, 3 asst and 1 rebound combined. Young and Plum 2 pts & 3 assists, 0 reb.
Atleast Sabrina and Loyd did something with 14 pts and 6 assist 6 reb together.
Beat me by seconds.

Another day, another game where Gray and Taurasi demonstrate they were not worthy of going to the Olympics AGAIN!
Boxscore
Meh.. They only played 6 minutes and DT only took one shot. DT is only there so that they can prop her up afterwards as a 6 time Gold medalist. Nothing more. It propaganda, thats all. There are better players on the bench, and they played the lions share of the minutes, as they should.

DT is starting and averaging 14.5 minutes per game.
1 PT/g
1.5 RB/g
.5 A/g
.5 S/g
0 B/g
.5 TO/g
2.5 F/g

Would have been impossible for Clark to bring those stats to the team.
Updated numbers for DT following the end of pool play.
Started 3 games, <12 minutes per game
.67 PT/g (1-6 shooting for pool play)
1 RB/g
.67 A/g
.33 S/g
0 B/g
.67 TO/g
1.67 F/g

Also, Gray had 18 assists and 2 total points in 3 games.

As a reminder, Clark had 19 assists and 24 points in her last regular season game, against tougher competition.

Colin Cowherd did a good job of detailing how some of the greats in other sports, like the NFL, led their leagues in turnovers. Obviously, Bird pretty much fits into that category too.

Other than that, all I know about Bird is what I have gleaned from Rebecca Lobo, and that is she was a great "get ahead" passer. Kinda sounds like someone we know 🤔.

DT came off the bench for the first time yesterday but still played 15 minutes. Hit her 2nd basket of the tournament to being her total up to 5 points in about 50 minutes of court time.

Gray got her 3rd point of these Olympics too and is now up to 22 assists total in four games.

Team USA was cruising until they took their foot off the gas in the 4th and only won by 14. They’ve now won their games by 26, 13, 19, and 14 points. With the Belgium game being the only one with a precarious lead heading into the 4th quarter, a game that DT and Gray played a combined 23 minutes and showed their veteran skills while together putting up zero points, three assists, one rebound, and one steal to ensure the victory.

The experience, leadership, and abilities these athletes bring to Team USA should be astounding to a young athlete like Clark who just pales in comparison to those stars.

I tried to find ratings for the women's team and cannot find anything other than the 3M for the game against Japan. I wonder if the ratings have tanked and they do not want to publish them? Or, do any of you know where to find them?
