****W Illinois vs Iowa Game Thread****

It was nice when the game got dicey at 13 points we finally saw a lineup that should be the norm.

Perkins, Uhlis, both Murrays. The 5th can be any number of guys based on their play. Besides Connor of course. He has no business seeing the court unless he's passing to Ash. That's our best line up without question. Best defense and just as good offensively as other lineups that have much worse defense.
I don't expect Fran to stick with it though.

REALLY? So he's in the top ten all time scoring for Iowa, and the BIG all time leader in made three's and top ten on assists but he can do well against MV comp? You know JBO isn't my favorite player and he can be a real douche sometimes, but its amazing to see a player with his resume and all the crap he takes from our fans, it really is......

I’m a big Toussant fan and I think he has a place on this team, but the more I see of Ulis and his rebounding and defense the more I like.

Yep and when Bowen joins the team next year, Joe T's going to need to up his game or he's going to be on spot duty at best....

I understand KM needs to quit his fouls, but us already running an undersized 5 man, is there honestly any good reason to be starting Rebraca over KM? Do we really think he’s a better option at the 5? Kris almost is always playing in the post as well, rather than the 3.

Is there any reason to play Patrick, Rebraka, Connor, or anyone not named Keegan over Kris?

Almost every game has played out this way. Keegan starts and Kris enters around the 12:00 mark. (Sometimes the 14:00 min, a few times under the 12:00 min mark). The brothers will play a handful of minutes together, then Keegan gets a breather. Kris remains in the game at least until Keegan goes back in.

Last night against WIU, Kris picked up his 2nd foul right after Keegan checked out. Keegan subbed right back in after sitting less than a minute of game clock. I don’t think Fran wants to be in a situation where both Murray’s are in foul trouble.

Joe's a senior next year. He'll be fine. Bowen will have a year with spot play and will play some off guard. He'll be needed a lot in 2023.

I do like having JoBo as a scorer but Tony definitely needs to stay in that top 5 for minutes.
