I won't add to the mundane pissing match that this thread became, but I do have one comment.
I find it disgusting that someone uses the term "Joke Trice". To denigrate the name of a man who died as a result of his injuries suffered in a football game (or anything for that matter) is below pathetic. I'm not a Hawk fan but would never poke fun at "Kinnick Stadium" out of simple respect for Nile Kinnick. What he accomplished and the sacrifice he made demands our respect. The same can be said for Jack Trice.
All tbe references to "Clowns" and "Moo U", etc. are easily ignored and part of a rivalry. "Joke Trice", however, crosses a line.
Having said that, I do recognize its just one person and not representative of an entire fan base. Most people, in spite of what team you support, have a proper sense of decency and respect.
Have a good day. Happy 4th of July!
Oh, yeah. Once or twice a year a clown comes on here on his soap box with the "don't denigrate the name Jack Trice" routine. Let's be real. The ones who do that are taking a shot at the stadium itself, not the man it was named after. At least this guy didn't say "Joke Lice Stadium," 'cause I've seen that one, too.
We all know that if Nile Kinnick's name had been something like Rick Toner or Jack Hoffman, ISU fans would be all over that.
Not exactly defending those comments, but don't take yourselves too seriously.
