Where does ISU go when the Big 12 implodes?

I won't add to the mundane pissing match that this thread became, but I do have one comment.

I find it disgusting that someone uses the term "Joke Trice". To denigrate the name of a man who died as a result of his injuries suffered in a football game (or anything for that matter) is below pathetic. I'm not a Hawk fan but would never poke fun at "Kinnick Stadium" out of simple respect for Nile Kinnick. What he accomplished and the sacrifice he made demands our respect. The same can be said for Jack Trice.

All tbe references to "Clowns" and "Moo U", etc. are easily ignored and part of a rivalry. "Joke Trice", however, crosses a line.

Having said that, I do recognize its just one person and not representative of an entire fan base. Most people, in spite of what team you support, have a proper sense of decency and respect.

Have a good day. Happy 4th of July!

Oh, yeah. Once or twice a year a clown comes on here on his soap box with the "don't denigrate the name Jack Trice" routine. Let's be real. The ones who do that are taking a shot at the stadium itself, not the man it was named after. At least this guy didn't say "Joke Lice Stadium," 'cause I've seen that one, too.

We all know that if Nile Kinnick's name had been something like Rick Toner or Jack Hoffman, ISU fans would be all over that.

Not exactly defending those comments, but don't take yourselves too seriously.

When you can't rationally accept what happened you use phrases like "sneak up on".
C'mon man, I know of isu fans that readily admit they did "sneak up" on Oklahoma and others. It simply won't be that way this season.

Has nothing to do with the person but the stadium. But if you are really offended then step up and do something. You can start by calling out all the disgusting behavior on cryclown fanatic. Or does the ladder to your high horse only apply to this site?

That’s how I view Purdue but seem to be bought into them for some reason.

Don't you mean " 4 out of 5 dentists surveyed"? It doesn't fit your agenda, so you rationalize it any way that helps you sleep. There are good sleep aids on the market.

If there were a person who would recognize that tactic you would be it. What is your next opionion piece going to be about?

Of course we snuck up on OU. They hadn't lost to us since the Truman administration (slight exaggeration, but only slight); we had looked terrible the previous week in a 10-point home loss to a mediocre Texas team; our starting QB quit the team in midweek before the game; and OU was ahead 14-0 when ISU had run only three plays from scrimmage.

It's safe to say the Boomers were not hyped and hungry at that point.

On the other hand, they had plenty of time to start tending to business.

ISU kicked them in the teeth! There was no sneaking around about it, but you are entitled to your opinion.

Schedule is everything and beating a playoff team on the road and a top 5 team in the same year, is moving in the right direction. Add in 5 losses by a total of 25pts and a bowl win on the opponents home field, and you get a decent year. The returning talent is strong so that is trending up. But since you want facts but make a statement of opinion "That most statisticians would disagree with that", go ahead and cherry pick for your agenda.

You're a combined 8-81 against those two top 5 schools. I don't need a statistician to tell me the stars were aligned last year. Just like they aligned for Iowa in 2015, but it wasn't a trend.

Maybe Campbell will have a great run in Ames, but 1 year beating 2 top 5 teams and going 6-5 against the rest of your schedule doesn't scream "trending" to me.

Get up on that high horse and high tail it over to cryclown fanatic. The behavior you find so disgusting is ready for your admonishment.

Let us know when you are done. https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/why-is-kinnick-stadium-considered-historic.239141/

Look how giddy clown fans are with an 8-5 record. Can you imagine how douchy they would be with some real success?

Clown fans still refuse to answer the simple question of how will the Big 12 be able to keep the finances of Texas and OU to a level that makes staying more attractive than leaving?

Again, the only options are the Big 10 or SEC.

The worst TV deals in the sport are the ACC (which runs the longest) and the PAC-12. IMO those are the most vulnerable. But we’re talking about 7 years from now and a lot can change.

If you truly believe the ACC and PAC-12 are more vulnerable tan the Texas Ten then I have a bridge to sell you and some fine land in Florida as well.

ISU to the Big 10 would be fantastic, albeit unrealistic and far-fetched. Geographically it is a perfect fit, but ISU doesn't the magical # of TV sets. In a perfect world, the Big 8 would never had expanded to 12, but money talked. I loved the Big 8 - you could play everyone in football, and play everyone twice in basketball. The same could probably be said about the Big 10 and others before TV and $$$ took over.

I've mentioned this before.....back around 1980 there was a fair amount of talk about Northwestern dropping out of the Big Ten, a la University of Chicago, and ISU was one of the schools mentioned as a replacement. It was gossipy crapola, of course, but it was serious enough that the Register asked Iowa officials if they would object to it -- as Michigan did when Michigan State was added -- and the answer was no.

ISU would have been a very logical addition at that time. But that was before TV was really a factor. Once that became the situation, any serious talk about ISU joining the Big Ten wasn't really serious. And isn't now.

It wss obvious that Ohio St wasn't top 5 material when they got hammered at home in week one. The Hawks just reinforced that with a butt kicking in Iowa City. Herby did his best to prop up the B10, but they were exposed.

Really? They did beat Michigan, MSU, PSU, Wisconsin and USC. That is a pretty damned good resume. What did your fearless warrirs do that was comparable?

No, I mean 4 out of 5 isu fans I know conceded the Clones snuck up on Oklahoma. Guess you’re the one that didn’t see it that way. I sleep just fine thank you, especially as Iowa continues to beat the clones.

OU went up 14-0 in that game. How is that sneaking up on them?

Again, Clone trolls, if OU and ISU had played again last season, do you think you win again?

I think the odds on that are about the same as the odds on Iowa beating Ohio State again if they had played a second time.

Probably not going to get a lot of argument about that, although Iowa certainly has a history of upsetting highly ranked teams in home night games.

EXACTLY MY POINT! Iowa is not at OSU's level as a program just like ISU isn't in the same area code as OU. I don't brag about Iowa beating OSU. It took a lot of things to go right. Beating you jackoffs, conversely, was not a fluke. It is something that Iowa has been doing consistetly since the series was resumed.
