You should NEVER strike a child?

Kid had given up once the guy sat at the picnic table it was over at that point. Wait for the police
I've seen a lot of stupid people defend being on the wrong side of an argument on this board over the years. I can honestly say, I've never seen a person so wrong and so stupid about it as you have been in this thread.
Even after you admitted being wrong, you still doubled down on your position.
This kid committed assault in an adult, the adult was well within his right to defend himself. The adult showed great restraint in not knocking the id into next week. The kid should have been arrested and removed from the home environment that has lead him to this behavior.

That child is the living embodiment of Maga. An overly entitled whiny little bully blaming everyone else and cursing at everyone and trying to get in the way of everything before screaming at the top of their lungs at the slightest push and then lying about the whole thing. Misogynist and racist throughout. It’s essentially Donald Trump’s tweets come to life. Maybe American Gods is on to something?
Oh horseshite.
This kid wouldn't know MAGA if it bit him in the ass. Racist? what part of this incident is racist? The part where a white kid hits another white person?

Good point... Ok, false alarm. Clearly not Soup.

I admitted to being wrong because I was wrong but this isn't a black and white world we live in. If an adult did that to your kid would you be justified in knocking the guy on his ass? If I walked up and saw that I would absolutely defend the kid. If I had been there in this exact scenario with this kid I know I would have stepped between them.

This is a ten year old kid and the glee expressed on here about him getting choked abd shoved to the ground is a bit disgusting.

The kid was wrong but that guy wasn't acting in self defense he was acting in anger. You can see it building. He went after that kid. The police were on their way so all he really needed to do was wait.

Of course he was angry. But once fists start flying, he was well within his rights to do what he did. "Waiting" is not a option at that point.

I didn’t say the kid was a Maga, I said he was the living embodiment of Trump’s tweets come to life. And the racist part is from other articles, allegedly the kid was running around taunting people with racist and misogynist names ie N-word, whore etc...

Can you post some links to those articles? I'm curious to know more backstory and/or followup on this incident. This happened last summer, correct? I'm interested to know if any charges were pressed or if further information was released.

I would but apparently the thread I got it from has now been deleted. Here’s a story that talks about it.

“A "backstory" published by a user of Disney messageboard site disforums.com earlier this week claimed the child was expelled from school recently after bringing a knife to class and threatening a teacher and other students.

"The man went to a concession stand and found the [park manager] and asked him for help... [He] told them to leave and they started swearing and cutting up with him... After the video the police came, watched the video and asked the park manager if he wanted to press charges... They felt it was a self-defense case, however, they did advise the park manager not to push a kid like that again."

The backstory on the Disforums thread appears to be based on a post by a member of the public on a local Illinois TV station's Facebook page. The post has since been deleted - it still appears in a Google search, but doesn't load.

The original Disforums thread in which the alleged backstory was published has also been deleted, but still exists in Google's cache of the site.“

I’ll keep searching and see if I can find it.

You don't think it is a good idea for a kid, especially like this one, to understand how and when he is putting himself in a position in which he has no methods of contoling its final outcome?

Hopefully her learns, "Well I am not doing that again, I got a scraped knee", out of acting like a brat.

Just stand there and get repeatedly beat upon? Eventually, the kid is going to land a blow that does some damage.

Or eventually he pops off to the wrong kid that is bigger than him and he ends up really getting his ass beat.

But do you wonder if that lady really is a whore???

The link I posted had all the information you are discussing here. Other than the kid being expelled for having a knife at school. That seems like information that would not be public anywhere do while I most certainly could see it being likely to have happened it also could simply be wrong.

The kid is no doubt trouble but not knowing his story should be viewed with a degree of empathy. Consequences should be given for sure but the kid is ten years old in this video. Something had gone terribly wrong in his life and I doubt very much physical violence from an adult fixes anything or teaches any lesson. The people saying that in this thread are quite simply wrong. The only message that gets sent there is I lost because that guy was bigger. The kid needs someone in his life to sit down and redirect that negative and actually care enough to do it. I have known many many social workers and teachers that do exactly that.

If he was expelled from school the state still has an obligation to teach him. Steps like this are taken to protect the school of course and this kid should be banned from this park as well. What it also does is give the court the ability to address the kid directly rather than through parents. Which may need to happen and in my experience more than likely needs to happen for this kid. Whatever is happening in his life is not being managed at home correctly even if the parents are really good people that aren't equipped to deal with his anger and behavior.

What would change your minds on this kid? I can share story after story of the underlying issues I have seen with kids like this. Everything from sexual abuse to parent putting out their cigarettes on their kids face. That happened to a 14 year old I was working with. The kid dealing meth for his mom because she knew if he got caught he would simply go to juvie. The kid living with his mom that was turning tricks in the living room.

Step way back from what you see in this video and you will understand where I am coming from. I have seen this happen over and over to the point that emotionally I couldn't deal. Listening to teachers like Tom Paris that live in a cloister with the talented kids and pretend that anyone outside that cloister is scum that deserves what they get

Trust me....they are getting. That is almost always why you see this type of behavior. The child....remember that it is a child right???....doesn't have the emotional ability to deal and has zero way out. Deserve is an interesting work isn't it? What the kid deserves truly is the way out. Unfortunately we don't do that all that well

This kid is ten. Ten years old.

Adult man lost his temper and threw down a 11 year old kid because he got pushed a few times and "punched." Talking about "whooping his ass," threatening him for several minutes before hand. There are several ways to diffuse that situation before it results in the kid getting thrown down. One of which is just walking in the door and shutting it behind you or walking the opposite way of the child. Downvote away.

The kid wanted to get hit or shoved so he could scream, "child abuse." What he didn't count on was none of the other adults siding with him, resulting in him calling them whores.

10 years old or not, this kid got what he deserved.

That's your opinion, which I disagree with, not surprisingly. I do not care what the kid was seeking, it's the adult's responsibility to ensure it does not get to that point. I do not know if a 10 year old kid ever deserves to get thrown down by an adult man that has lost his temper unless he's being violent towards someone who cannot defend themselves. The adult could have easily avoided this situation and acted as poorly as the ten year old. That's inexcusable.

Any doubt at all who was going to win a fight between that kid that hasn't hit puberty and that adult man that looks like he outweighs him by 150 pounds?

And your suggestion is that he should have picked him up, slammed him to the ground and pinned him there for 5-10 minutes until the police arrived. THAT'S your solution to this. When all he did was barely touch him and the kid flopped. Then walked away.

Yeah...slamming and pinning would be better. Good grief.

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say that kid doesn’t have a stable home environment.
Nah ... Come on ... Little Billy is just 'misunderstood' and would never do anything to cause harm to anyone ...

Well, except for Little Billy talks like a trucker and called a grown woman a wh*re and started punching an adult male ... Yeah, I see "bars" and "special orange-colored uniforms" in Little Billy's future ...

The adult needs to be arrested and charged with assault. Nothing that kid was doing was right but a grown man throwing a kid on the ground? No.

Pick him up and set him on the ground and keep him there until the police arrive. Not choke him and throw him on the ground
He didn't "choke him" ... He pushed the little cocky shi&&y kid onto the ground ... The same kid who then cried like a little girl for 30 seconds and then told an adult woman to F8ck off and then called her a wh*re ... Yeah, okay ... pick him up and set him on the ground until authorities arrive ... Uh huh ... sure ... yeah ... that would have worked perfectly in this situation ...

Maybe this kid getting shoved to the ground is the wake-up call that he needs?

Maybe he'll think twice about hitting other people now?

I absolutely agree this kid should be viewed with some empathy. He is obviously deeply disturbed and needs major psychological help. If he doesn't change, he'll probably be dead or in prison before he's 30.

His family situation should be examined.

That being said, the adult that pushed him was totally in his legal rights to do so. He absolutely did the right thing.

I hope the kid gets the help he needs.

I don't know about that but I wouldn't want him to be my son in law someday because I would end up in jail after he hit my daughter. Didn't care for him screaming in the woman's face...at all.

FFS. And this way of thinking is why so many public schools are in the shape they are in. The kids have zero accountability.

Yes because I am not an emotionally weak person that needs to shove a 10 year old.to the ground. The kid was 10.

I have done exactly that before by the way so yes.

The man is almost a "little person"... why no concern for him being bullied?
