This just happened to me. All of it 100% true and insane. In Cleveland.

So I get an Uber.

It says “Mohammad in white van.”

A white van pulls up and I say “Mohammad?” And he says “that’s me”. So I start to get in the van and he says, “What are you doing?” And the he pulls a bag of food out. He’s a door dash guy. Completely different Mohammad in a white van.

Then right behind him a white van pulls up. He says “FAU?” I say yeah and jump in and say “That guys name is Mohammad too.”

He looks and says “I’m not Mohammad.”

There’s a guy on the curb looking at me and I say, “Wait…are you FAU?” And he says yeah…this is my Uber.

Then my Mohammed pulls up as I’m getting out and yells “FAU I’m right here! What are you doing?” As if the last 30 seconds is possible.

I was like holy shit and told him the story.

So I’m leaving the casino and get an Uber back and I shit you not…this comes up. Completely different ****ing Mohammed in a white van. It was like I was on Candid Camera.

It's important to note that this was a PRE-PRODUCED video. This wasn't a simple mistake made in the moment. This mistake was made beforehand and not one person realized it. That massively raises the level of incompetence.

I love you if

  • I'm walking up with one item and you (with 15+ items) turns and says, "You can go ahead in front of me."
  • I'm approaching an intersection with my right blinker on and you, who is going straight, moves over to the left lane so I can turn right unimpeded.
  • You stop with enough distance for me to exit the parking lot instead of blocking the entrance/exit.
  • You get off your rump and come help me set up the team canopy. I'm the team manager and setting up the canopy and chairs (by myself) isn't part of my job description. I'm doing it because it's the right thing to do as a fellow parent.

Does Clark change how the sport is being played?

I keep seeing these stories... but is she changing the sport or is it just her being one of the best of all time? I guess time will tell, but it may be we're witnessing a really rare phenomenon. (rather than one that's going to totally change the sport)

I don't know that we'll see anyone with her game anytime soon.

Big Tens Preview

It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

Go Hawks!

You must fight a random person to the death…

This is an adult over the age of 18 and +/- 10 years of your own age. They will be chosen at random, you do not know who it will be ahead of time. You will fight in an arena with no place to hide.

You must choose one melee item (so no guns, bows, etc) of your choice. You both will get the same weapon.

What do you choose and why?

  • Poll
POLL: MOST "Presidential" Recent Candidates

Which of these recent contenders for the WH are/were most presidential? Pick up to 5.

  • Biden

    Votes: 9 40.9%
  • Trump

    Votes: 1 4.5%
  • Hillary

    Votes: 7 31.8%
  • Obama

    Votes: 16 72.7%
  • Romney

    Votes: 15 68.2%
  • McCain

    Votes: 10 45.5%
  • Kerry

    Votes: 4 18.2%
  • Bush 43

    Votes: 7 31.8%
  • Gore

    Votes: 9 40.9%
  • Dole

    Votes: 4 18.2%

However you want to measure "presidential." Pick up to 5 of the recent contenders for the White House that you think are the most presidential.

I would have included Bill Clinton and Bush 41 to round out the field of major candidates, and would have liked to include folks like Ross Perot and Ralph Nader, as well, but the poll function only allows 10 options. Feel free to write in any of those after you have voted on the top 10.

Be sure to vote on the "least presidential" poll, too, which is here:

So much for the Democrats supporting Ukraine. Former Democratic Presidential candidate and Secretary of State Kerry states what he actually feels.

“I believe that Russia has the ability to be able to make enormous changes if it really wanted to. I mean, if Russia has the ability to wage a war illegally and invade another country, they ought to be able to find the effort to be responsible on the climate issue,” Kerry said.

Judge: Iowa hospice program told worker to ‘let people die’

An Iowa judge has awarded jobless benefits to a hospice worker who allegedly quit after being told to let patients die rather than provide them with services.
State records indicate that in October 2023, social worker Alisha Ebert of Janesville began working for a Cedar Falls hospice program run by Compassus, a national company with facilities in four Iowa cities.

In December, Ebert resigned and subsequently applied for unemployment benefits. A hearing on the request was held on Feb. 15, with Ebert and her husband providing testimony. Compassus did not participate in the hearing.

Administrative Law Judge Daniel Zeno presided over the hearing and according to his factual findings, Ebert’s managers had “told her to make certain patients a lower priority in the hopes that the patients would die before Ms. Ebert was able to provide service to the patients.” As a result of that alleged directive, Ebert concluded that her morals and those of her employer were not in alignment, Zeno found.

Ebert continued to work for the company, but allegedly struggled in the job because of the high caseload and the amount of driving required for the job, Zeno found, noting that there was testimony that Ebert had almost twice the caseload as other social workers. When the situation at Compassus didn’t improve, Ebert resigned, giving the company one week’s notice.
Based on the testimony provided at the hearing, Zeno concluded Ebert was entitled to unemployment benefits, ruling that her working conditions were intolerable.
“It is reasonable to the average person that Ms. Ebert should not have to work in an environment where her manager at a job providing care for people in hospice would tell Ms. Ebert to essentially let people die instead of providing them with care,” Zeno stated in his ruling. “Ms. Ebert’s job ended when she quit because of her working conditions, and Ms. Ebert has established that her working conditions were intolerable and detrimental.”

Calls to Compassus’ Cedar Falls office and to the company’s corporate office in Tennessee were not returned on Monday.

How Long Have You Been on HROT?

I'm not sure why I was thinking about this today, but how long have you guys been on HROT?

I believe I first started visiting the board back in 2011. I was 20 years old and in the USAF at the time and stationed at Lajes Field (Azores), Portugal. I'm 33 now, but sometimes I think back to old HROT and wonder what some of those posters might be up to.

I remember Rhino and YellowSnow being prominent members.

I remember the first Lute post I read and being confused as to what kind of person would write like that.

I remember when Meg first posted and some of you thirsty mf's piling on. Who was the poster who would always defend her like a knight in shining armor?

"BAU" and "WOB" were popular acronym's that I rarely see anymore.

I remember the famous "Post A Picture of Yourself" thread.

Wasn't Tom Brommelkamp the moderator back then? I seem to remember him leaving. I heard him on a radio show many years later.

Anybody have any clue as to what happened with Rhino, YellowSnow, or Meg? Or any of the other high volume posters from 10+ years ago.

****Maine mass shooter Robert Card found dead from self inflicted gunshot wound****
