Or just take your chances with what I posted. 83 percent. Odds will never be more in your favor.Going to have to wait a couple days I’d guess.
You are way more "in the know" than me, but I feel like NB is about 70% (healthwise) and a healthy PK is the better option at this point. Feel bad for Nelson, as he really only got one healthy year in his college career. PK needs a good B10 to help his NCAA seed. It’ll be Kennedy.
Last time they went Hamiti beat PK 9-6 in the 2023 B10 finals. PK looks better suited to win matches and score points at B10s and NCAAs than NB from where I’m sitting. On Nelson’s defense not to many people look good against Hammiti. I feel like they will go with Nelson just a hunch. I honestly think it’s a bad move but I am not the coach go from being a 8 or 9 seed at Natty’s to a best case 12 seed. But I am pretty sure Nelson beats PK in wrestleoffs
I don't know that he looked terrible, Hamiti has been tough up at 174. I honestly think PK gives up the major in that match. I think Nelson's health, especially him looking dinged up after that match tips it to PK. Obviously seeding etc also favor PK.I doubt that there is a wrestle=off. Kennedy gets the nod. Nelson looked terrible against OSU. It was expected with his lack of mat time.
That match is irrelevant, Hamiti is a different animal at 174 and away from Wisconsin. He was sucking too much weight and had some injury issues back then.Last time they went Hamiti beat PK 9-6 in the 2023 B10 finals. Bottom line is Nelson's a tough SOB. He worked his butt off all year to be the man, but sometimes the body doesn't cooperate. He really never had a healthy year, but still gave guys like Brooks everything they wanted. PK has the chance to make a statement going into next year. I'm happy that Nelson will always be on the wall with his AA. I'm hoping like hell PK can join him.I think PK will be the guy.
I ran into Ironside at AAU state this weekend and asked him who was going and he said PK with no hesitation.
If Nelson was 100% I think it would be him but he's obviously not.
It ended 2-1 in TB2. No inside info, just Nelson was in it.There had to be one, right? Any info out there?
A 2-1 decision kind of sounds like a Nelson win? Two escapes and a ride out.It ended 2-1 in TB2. No inside info, just Nelson was in it.

Why was he not wrestling 174 at Wisc then? Or are you saying coaches made him go 165? Wisc had nothing at 174 if that was his ideal weight any of his 3 years thereThat match is irrelevant, Hamiti is a different animal at 174 and away from Wisconsin. Becasue Chris Bono has shit for brains. Why was he not wrestling 174 at Wisc then? Or are you saying coaches made him go 165? Wisc had nothing at 174 if that was his ideal weight any of his 3 years there
Obviously none of us know, but it’s plausible Taylor is the one who convinced him 174 was his ideal weight. Why was he not wrestling 174 at Wisc then? Or are you saying coaches made him go 165? Wisc had nothing at 174 if that was his ideal weight any of his 3 years there
2022-23 (Wisconsin): Became a two-time All-American with another sixth-place national finish at 165 pounds … Posted a 25-6 record and earned the No. 3 seed at the NCAA Championships … Won three matches and beat a pair of top-10 opponents to win the 165-pound Big Ten title … Pulled out a tight 9-6 decision over Iowa’s No. 4 Patrick Kennedy in the finals, matching the highest-ranked win in his career … Had an impressive 15-5 record against ranked wresters, beat five top-10 opponents and went 14-2 in dual competition … Scored bonus points in 61% of his matches with five pins, three technical falls and career-best 11 major decisions … Ranked inside the top-seven all season long by InterMatThat match is irrelevant, Hamiti is a different animal at 174 and away from Wisconsin. If they were actually doing wrestle offs, it would probably be Gabe Arnold.

It’s not just coaches. Often the kids themselves think that their best weight is the lowest weight they can possibly make.
And then in 2023-24 was not an All American.2022-23 (Wisconsin): Became a two-time All-American with another sixth-place national finish at 165 pounds … Posted a 25-6 record and earned the No. 3 seed at the NCAA Championships … Won three matches and beat a pair of top-10 opponents to win the 165-pound Big Ten title … Pulled out a tight 9-6 decision over Iowa’s No. 4 Patrick Kennedy in the finals, matching the highest-ranked win in his career … Had an impressive 15-5 record against ranked wresters, beat five top-10 opponents and went 14-2 in dual competition … Scored bonus points in 61% of his matches with five pins, three technical falls and career-best 11 major decisions … Ranked inside the top-seven all season long by InterMat
Damn the Hawks should get some injured wrestlers and make em’ cut too much weight. Then they too could get on the podium and win over 60% of their matches by bonus points.
Looks like I was off a year on when he was struggling. I still think he widens the gap with PK at 174.2022-23 (Wisconsin): Became a two-time All-American with another sixth-place national finish at 165 pounds … Posted a 25-6 record and earned the No.

I’m with youHamiti had 1 loss at this point last year to David Carr and had a better bonus percentage. He may be better this year but I’m not convinced he’s some completely different wrestler this year.
So he was sucking weight, injured and still bonused his way to the B10 finals where he lost to Messenbrink 13-11? Damn he’s got 1st world struggle problems.Looks like I was off a year on when he was struggling. I still think he widens the gap with PK at 174.
Works for me.He was going 174 before Taylor was in discussions for the job. He pretty much knew all year he didn't want to do it again (Bono is a really good coach) - Mesenbrink match sealed the deal.
Weight cut got to him. Nothing more, nothing less.So he was sucking weight, injured and still bonused his way to the B10 finals where he lost to Messenbrink 13-11? Damn he’s got 1st world struggle problems.
He lost to 3 X finalist David Carr in the quarter finals by Dec. and then lost in SV to Izzy Olenik for the only “bad” loss of his career. Hopefully you’ve got some long arms cause you’re reaching……….Weight cut got to him. Nothing more, nothing less.
Pretty sure he got hurt at the end of the year too. It was just a massive amount of suck that ended in a bad performance at the end of the year too- which, in our sport, is all that matters.
Who the hell remembers his season long dominance? Nothing many.
These things aren’t coming out of nowhere. He wrestled a few matches at 174 that year. I was surprised he dropped back down. And he looked horrible at nationals. Horrible?! He stuck his first opponent in the first period, majored the second, lost by decision to the eventual champ Carr, then dropped a match in SV to Olejnik. Caliendo beat Olejnik 9-8 the next round. I mean where can we get horrible, injured, sucked down dudes like him? These things aren’t coming out of nowhere. He wrestled a few matches at 174 that year.
